Chapter 29 

“Mr. Wilson, why would I bother lying to you?” Linda said with a hint of amusement. 

William tightened his grip around her waist. 

Linda winced in pain. “Mr. Wilson, you’re hurting me. Let go.” 

After a brief pause, William loosened his grip. Linda immediately pushed him away, opened the emergency exit door, and hurried out. She got into her car, started the engine, and sped away. 

William looked like a raving lunatic now. 

Linda sped away from YK Media and headed to Radiant Jewelry to pick up Chloe after work. 

had established her studio in Flomont, where it had been managed by someone else for some time. 

It wasn’t until Linda mentioned moving back to the country that Chloe decided to return. Chloe came back two months before Linda to get the studio ready. 

When Linda got to the studio, everyone was still on the job. Chloe, a Gen Z boss who promoted flexible hours, worked from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. 

-The studio employees had even more flexible hours. They could start work whenever they wanted as long 

as they put in at least 8 hours. So, it was usual to find someone working at 10:00 pm. 

Linda entered, holding her car keys. 

The receptionist recognized her and greeted her with a smile. “Good afternoon, Ms. Linda.” 

“Hello. Where’s Ms. Chloe?” 

“She’s in her office.” 

Linda nodded and headed down the hallway to the private office at the end. She gently pushed the door open and peeked in. “Ms. Chloe, may I enter?” 

Chloe paused her work. ‘Why are you asking for my permission when you’re already halfway in?” 

“How was your day?” Linda asked, recalling Chloe mentioning a tricky deal–something about issues with finding raw gemstones or something similar. 

“Today went surprisingly well,” Chloe replied, handing Linda a document. “Linda, can you check this and 

let me know if I should sign it?” 

Linda’s brow furrowed as she opened the document. 

Chloe continued, “Ever since you went to Usna, William has been secretly supplying me with resources, helping me climb quickly in the jewelry design industry. 

“I didn’t tell you before because I was worried you’d mind. This document came from his company today.

and I want to hear what you think.” 

Chloe was cautious in her approach. She would have signed it immediately if anyone else had presented such an opportunity. 

But since it was William, she had to consider Linda’s feelings. Maintaining too much contact with William might not be good for Linda. Therefore, Chloe left the decision to her.
