Chapter 295
“Just focus on your recovery. I promise you’ll be okay” Suddenly, William’s voice came from the doorway. It seemed he had been standing there for a while.
Upon seeing William, Luke frowned slightly. “Mr. Wilson, I didn’t expect to see you here.”
“Thank you for saving Linda,” William said earnestly,
Luke shook his head “Saving Linda was my choice. If anyone needs to thank me, it’s Linda, not you. You and Linda are former spouses, so this has nothing to do with you I don’t deserve your gratitude.”
Luke’s description of their relationship hit william like a punch.
Lina, standing nearby, suppressed a smile as she gestured for William to follow her. “Mr. Wilson, could we talk in private? There’s something I need to discuss with you “Lina? Linda called out, confused
“I just need a moment with Mr. Wilson. You stay here with Mr. Hunter. I’ll be back soon.”
With a reassuring pot on Linda’s hand, Lina followed William out of the room.
When they reached the end of the hospital corridor, Lina turned to William and asked, “Mr. Wilson, do you have a cigarette?”
William reached into his pocket, pulling out a pack and a lighter Lina lit up with practiced ease, taking a deep drag before exhaling a perfect ring of smoke
“I think Hannah isn’t the only mastermind behind this,” she began
Hector and Nelson had already confessed that Hannah had paid them to kidnap Linda, claiming she wanted her dead. But it was clear they were primarily after money.
They had demanded a ransom from Samson because they knew that if Linda were harmed, they would face severe consequences. So, they planned to take the money and release
her.
Moreover, they had insisted on cash because it left fewer traces than a transfer or check, which could be frozen as evidence.
“If it were just Hannah, she wouldn’t have planned to kill Linda, Lina continued.
“How can you be so sure?”
“Hannah isn’t stupid. She knows exactly how much you and Samson care about Linda. If Linda were harmed, Hannah would get nothing and pay a heavy price. All she wanted was
money.
“Come with me to the police station,” said Walam.
without explaining further, he turned and headed for the elevator. Lina wasn’t sure what he had in mind but followed, knowing that William’s connections in the city likely ran deep.
