“I’ve already started looking into the situation, so you don’t have to worry too much,” William said as he walked over to Linda. He wasn’t trying to add to her stress, but she had right to know as the one directly involved. 

Linda entered the kitchen, poured herself a glass of water, and passed William a bottle of mineral water. “I understand. I’ll handle the follow–up myself 

She still didn’t want William getting too involved. It wasn’t because of lingering feelings, but if he handled this for her, she’d owe him a favor. In this world, the hardest thing to repay was a favor.

William caught her and lifted her. “Have you missed me lately, Lexi? 

“Yes, I missed you,” Leximplied. 

Linda and Samson didn’t mind how close Willam and Lexi were. They walked over to the balcony extending from the living room.
