Chapter 357
Chloe’s philosophy in life was making money and enjoying life to the fullest. Marriage and children had no place in her plans. All she wanted was to indulge in life. In her opinion, the sole purpose of making money was to fuel that enjoyment.
“You could see if there’s someone at the company who you feel would make a good travel companion. I’m sure you have many friends who would love to go. I really can’t take time off with my workload. You’re welcome to bring Lexi along if you think you can manage to take her.”
Chloe had never even considered the idea of traveling with Lexi. She had no idea how to take care of a child. “Never mind. I’ll find a place to unwind alone before returning to work.
The two sisters grabbed a late–night snack after finishing their spa treatment before heading home.
Linda had initially offered to have Chloe stay with her at her place. However, Chloe strongly opposed the idea.
“I could leave for a trip at any moment. I can just grab my suitcase and go if I stay at a hotel. But if I’m at your place, I would have to return to the hotel to pack first. That’s such a waste of time!”
Linda had no choice but to drop her off at the hotel.
William’s car was still parked outside when Linda pulled up her car at the villa’s entrance,
She glanced at her watch..
Lexi should have been asleep by now. Why hadn’t William left yet?
She was puzzled as she grabbed her bag and headed inside.
William stood up and prepared to leave after seeing Linda’s car pulling in “Lexi’s asleep. Get some rest
Linda nodded. “Thanks for your help tonight.”
“No problem at all, tenjoyed spending time with her.”
They passed by each other at the door. Linda stood at the door and watched him leave.
William got into his car and started the engine before driving away.
They were like two parallel lines that always moved forward side by side but never destined to meet.
Memories of their past Gooded William’s mind while he was on his way home. He also recalled something Linda had once said, “I’ll love him from beyond his world if I can’t have what I want”
He couldn’t remember the exact circumstances when she said it. It was probably during a move they had watched together.
He had only agreed to watch it because Linda had been so insistent at the time. He felt like she would never stop asking if he didn’t agree to it.
“Linda, I guess it’s my turn to love you from outside your world now,” he murmured.
Linda was certainly completely unaware of William’s inner thoughts.
