Linda’s gaze at William was no icy it made his heart ache 

“Zack. I need to test,” she said, feeling weak and as if she roight collapse at any moment. The chill that enveloped her body reminded her of four years ago–the same piercing cold she felt when she lost her

Seeing how pale she looked, Zack quickly called Julie to help Linda to the room. William tried to follow, but Zack blocked his way. 

“Mr. Wilson, Linda has finally put her life back together. Please let her go in recognition of the help Felix Group extended to Wilson Group back in the day. She’s truly exhausted. 

“I’ve watched Linda blossom. Her parents had always treasured her. Maybe her only fault was believing the hollow promises you made in your youth. Linda understands, deep down, that she’s the one who brought this on herself. 

“You’ve always been above it all, William, but Linda’s no longer the cherished girl she used to be. Please, show some mercy. Repay the support Mr. John has given you over the years by letting Linda go. She can’t deal with any more distress; 

“If Linda could turn back time to her childhood, I believe she wouldn’t choose to save you. She wouldn’t let herself become a miserable figure who suffers under your mistreatment.” 

Zack’s heart went out to Luna. He turned away, leaving William standing there, devastated. 

Linda deserved a life free from this anguish. She was meant to be cherished for all her days. Had she never met William, she could have enjoyed endless happiness, Yet, fate had other plans, bringing him into.

Zack shook his head. “I’ve lost the enthusiasm I once had. These days, I’m looking for a simpler life.” 

Linda respected his cholpe. “No problem. Felix Group will always be open to having you back.” 

“Thanks. I’ll let you know if I decide to return.”
