The elderly woman, Carla White, said, “A loud splash was heard from the water, arousing the old man’s suspicion. He got up to investigate and saw two children had fallen from a boat into the middle of the river–a girl was pulling a boy as they swam. 

“Since we weren’t great at swimming, we considered throwing them a lifebuoy. However, a menacing- looking man appeared on the boat, making us hesitant. 

“A few minutes later, the boat left, and only then did we dare to throw the lifebuoy to the children. We pulled them ashore. The boy seemed to have hit his head and was bleeding, while the girl was exhausted and out of breath. 

“We didn’t know their identities and feared bringing trouble to our small household. After careful consideration, we called the police. 

“That day, many police cars and luxury cars arrived, presumably the children’s parents. After the children were taken away, we gave our statements to the police and returned home the next morning. 

“While cleaning up, we found this protective amulet I’m holding. Recognizing its value, we kept it. 

“After that day, we moved away early the next morning and never returned to the riverside again out of fear of retaliation. 

“Yesterday, my grandson saw the news online and recalled the story I had told him, so he made this video. I can testify that the girl who saved the boy was named Linda. This protective amulet is the best evidence.” 

After the video was released, Ida’s lies were thoroughly exposed. 

Linda had searched for the kind people who helped them back then but had never found them. Seeing them again now, she felt deeply moved. 

She contacted them to get their current address. 

Linda asked Wendy to prepare some gifts and headed to their home early the next morning. 

Unexpectedly, she and William ran into each other at the apartment complex. 

Jay was carrying many gifts, just like Wendy. 

It seemed they had the same purpose. 

Linda glanced at him briefly, then entered the elevator with Wendy without waiting for them. 

Jay dared not speak after noticing William’s expression. 

The family knew Linda would be visiting and had prepared early. 

“Hi, Ms. Felix.” 

Carla’s grandson, Jon Lace, helped her out to meet Linda, who quickly assisted her to the couch. 

“Ma’am, these are some gifts from me.” 

Wendy placed the gifts on the coffee table, and Linda took out a card from her bag. 

“I tried to find you after the incident, but I couldn’t.” 

Carla replied, “We’re just ordinary people and were afraid of bringing trouble upon ourselves, so we moved away.”

Not only for their help back then but also for speaking out now. 

“No need to thank me.” 

Carla called for Jon to bring out the protective amulet, and she returned it to Linda. 

“This belongs to you. Seeing it over the years reminded me of the scene of such a young girl rescuing 

someone. 

“I know you’ve endured a lot over the years.”
