William said, “So, according to you, I need to take responsibility, is that right?” William couldn’t help but laugh. “Did I order her to kill someone? I haven’t even settled accounts with her for hurting Linda.” 

“William, you can’t do this,” Joanne protested. 

“What have I done?” William pressed. “You are my mother, yet you repeatedly made me misunderstand Linda. You think I won’t do anything to you, don’t you? 

are gravely mistaken if you think that. I won’t be lenient just because you are my mother. If I expose everything you’ve done over the years, do you think the already shaky Clay family can pull you out of this?” 

William had always been straightforward. 

“Mrs. Wilson, I’ve tolerated you only because you were lucky enough that my father asked me to protect you before he passed. Otherwise, do you think you could live so carefree?” 

Joanne couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She became hysterical. “You’re lying to me! This can’t be true. It can’t possibly be your father,” 

“You can ask him about it yourself when you join him up there. 

“You gave birth to me, and I should be grateful for that. My tolerance for you has reached its limit over the years. 

“The matter of that child, and everything you’ve done to Linda–I have gathered all the evidence and handed it to Linda. 

“As for whether she will expose everything, I’m not sure.” 

He chuckled softly. It was a sound that made Joanne’s heart tremble. 

“I won’t protect you this time. Mrs. Wilson, you’re on your own.” 

William didn’t want to say more. He had said everything he needed to.. 

He hung up the phone and tossed it back to Jay. 

Jay took the phone and continued reporting the subsequent work. 

“Boss, there’s a project discussion next week with Felix Group. Should I go, or do you want to handle it

personally?” 

In the past, William would never have gone himself, but things were different now. 

Since Linda took over the company, she had been handling many tasks herself. 

Now, William cherished any opportunity to see her as their time together had become scarce.

“Understood, boss.”

team a modestly priced piece of jewelry as a token of appreciation. 

“In the past few days, both Linda’s issues and mine have been troubling everyone. This is a little token of my gratitude.” 

“Thank you, Ms. Felix!” the team members responded gratefully. 

Chloe nodded and handed a portable hard drive to Lina. 

“The contents of this need to be published.”
