Chapter 95
Linda replied, “Mr. Wilson, please don’t call me for matters like this in the future. I’m happy now, and I don’t want it to affect my mood..
“Ever since I suggested checking the surveillance footage and you insisted it was me, I stopped caring about the company’s affairs.
“Your disdain for me reached such a level that it surprised me, though expected.”
Chloe returned with a cup of fruit tea, about to call out to Linda, but then decided against it.
She quietly sat in the passenger seat and handed a cup of hot cocoa to her.
“Mr. Wilson, please stop interfering with my life. This is my final request.”
“Linda, we can’t just leave it like this.”
“Then, I’ll wait to see what you plan to do next.”
Linda ended the call and took a sip of her hot cocoa. She frowned.
Chloe immediately understood and handed over a napkin, and Linda spat out the tapioca pearls from her mouth.
“Can’t stand the pearls, huh?”
Before Linda could ask, Chloe spoke first, “Don’t buy it next time.”
Putting tapioca pearls in hot cocoa? Wasn’t that a recipe for disaster?
“Linda, what did William say?”
“He apologized to me.” Linda reversed the caf out. “He said they’ve found out about what happened back
then.”
“He realizes it now?” Chloe scoffed. “When people are already dead?”
“Chloe, when someone hates you that much, everything you do is wrong in their eyes.”
Her marriage with William had been something she had sought, and for him, she was just a villain.
Chloe remained silent. She didn’t want to upset Linda.
Samson unexpectedly discovered something while investigating John’s and Adeline’s deaths.
He looked for Linda as it concerned her family affairs, and he didn’t want to interfere.
“Samson, what’s going on?”
Linda stepped out of the meeting.
“I found something that I think you should know.”
Samson handed over a folder. “Your father and William’s father had a deal a long time ago.”
“What?” Linda quickly opened the folder to read the document.
“Sean, the former chairman of Wilson Group, passed away ten years ago due to a failed heart surgery. The company was taken over by his son.
“In this document, you can see that this agreement existed before you and William were kidnapped. It must have been earlier,”
Linda was truly baffled now.
“Samson, I don’t quite understand what you mean.”
“A lot of things were part of their plans,” Samson put it delicately, and Linda understood.
“But my father was strongly opposed to my marriage with William.”
“I don’t know about that,” Samson replied, not interested in matters that didn’t concern his interests.
He only started paying attention to Linda and Chloe after John passed away because John had helped him many years ago.
