Chapter 3044
Jessica wiped the tears on her cheeks and straightened her outfit before striding out of her office.
"Did anything happen in the bookstore recently?" she strolled around and asked her employees.
"No. It's pretty quiet recently."
Hearing their answers, Jessica nodded happily. Her love life might be a mess, but at least her business was still doing well. That was enough for her. She was deep in thought when something loud crashed outside.
Crack! The glass window of her bookstore smashed into pieces.
What is going on? Jessica rushed out to see what was going on.
Crack! Crack! The remaining glass windows smattered into pieces one after another.
Da*n it, what's going on?
"Where is the culprit?" she glanced around and demanded.
"Ms.Zimmer, they had already escaped" her employee responded.
Rage boiled in Jessica's heart instantly.
She couldn't believe someone would cause trouble in her bookstore in broad daylight! Immediately, she pulled out her phone and called the cops. Soon, the cops arrived.
"Have you checked your security footage?"
Alas, Jessica and her employees didn't even know the security cameras had been destroyed earlier.
Clearly, it was a deliberate action.
Jessica narrowed her gaze and stared out of the window gloomily.
This was the first time she had ever encountered something like this since she started running the bookstore.
She took away my boyfriend from me, and now she's trying to ruin my business.I'm not a pushover! She vowed silently, Don't let me get something on you, or I shall make you pay.
Jessica gritted her teeth.
Joan, who was still in the hospital, panicked instantly when she heard what happened.
"What? Is Jessica hurt? Where is she? What happened?"
"Calm down, will you? She's fine. A few glass windows in her bookstore were shattered. It's no big deal" Larry explained hastily.
That's a serious matter. It is obvious that someone is trying to bully Jessica. Panic overwhelmed Joan's chest at that thought. She immediately urged, "You should go and see if she's hurt."
"Joan, don't worry. I'm alright," Jessica stepped into the ward and assured her.
"It was an accident. A few kids were playing outside and accidentally threw a stone at my windows. It's nothing huge"
Oh, I see. Joan breathed a sigh of relief.
