Nine months too late: After divorce by Baby Charlene novel Chapter 46

Chapter 46
“It’s not what you think!” Her voice wavered a little. “I never wanted any of this to happen. I…I was out of the country, you know, and I only hwd to return three weeks ago for a business deal. I had no idea Kage would be my partner in the deal. He forced me to work from his company and also forced me to move in with him. I never suggested or welcomed the idea. In return for moving in with him, he’d promised to get my family into the One Trillion Group. I never asked for any of it.”
This girl must be crazy,” Griffin laughed. “So, the same Kage who couldn’t wait to divorce you suddenly forcing himself on you? And you expect us to believe that?”
“Yes! Because it’s the truth”
“Oh, shut up, you desperate whore!” Phoebe snarled. “Kage will never force himself on you. I still can’t imagine the both of you being together intimately. So, how the hell did that baby come about?”
Sylvie lowered her head, a tear finally strolling down her check.
“Okay, let’s cut the whole drama, shall we? Another rolled her eyes. “Dear Sylvie, here is the reason we called you here. We don’t want you birthing a child for Kage. So, while it isn’t too late, we’ll be needing you to carry out a termination on the one in your belly. Get rid of it, Sylvie, we don’t want it
Her eyes widened as she jerked her head up to look at her. Disbelief shadowed her eyes.
“How can you even say such a thing? How can you ask me to kill my own. She withheld revealing she was pregnant with twins. They obviously didn’t know, which made Sylvie realize they didn’t get the information from Kage,
Lana had made the same mistake in the restroom, and the thought of Lana being behind this scheme filled Sylvie with so much hate.
“It’s quite simple,” Griffin shrugged. “We’re ready to give you anything you ask for. Just name your price, Sylvie and get rid of
it.”
Her heart sank. How could they hate her this much? What did she ever do to them? Their betrayal stung, causing another tear to roll down.
“I can’t,” she shook her head, unable to look up. “The baby’s mine. I don’t care if you hate it, but it’s mine. Before now. I already told Kage I wanted to raise it on my own.”
“Like hell, you will!” Phoeba hit the table. “We know your tricks, Sylvie. You must think we’re stupid if you think we’ll sit down and watch you pin this child on Kage when it doesn’t belong to him!
“It does! Why would you even think it doesn’t belong to him!?” She cried out.
Phoebe, relaxed in her chair, smiled. “Maybe because you’re a lot like your mother.”
Sylvie’s year snapped I to two. She looked at Phoebe and couldn’t believe her ears, What?
Her
reyes turned angry as she rose to her feet. “I’ll not have you insult my
mother!”
mother “Oh please!” Another chuckled. “How’s it an insult when it’s the truth? Your mother cheated on your father, leading to their divorce. It was so bad, your father had to run a DNA on yo and your sisters. Weren’t you told the story of how your died?
“Enough!” She yelled.
“She was found dead in the hotel room of a married man.
They laughed

The woman continued. “Stabbed multiple times and left in the tub. What a shameless way to die.”
“I said, stop!” Sylvie’s voice trembled now, her face was covered in more tears.
It hurt – hurt so much to be bullied and reminded of something like that. She didn’t deserve it.
“It’s obvious you’re trying to do the same to Kage, Phoebe took over. “Cheating on him and trying to pin a worthless child on him. You seem to be worst than mother:

Sylvie didn’t have the strength to yell anymore. Tears streamed down her cheeks, and just as she reached for her bag, Kage ran into the house.
The table fell silent in an instant. Sylvie’s pain seemed to increase upon seeing him, but at the same time, she felt relieved he was there. He wasn’t like them, was he?
Kage turned angry. He didn’t know what they’d been saying before his entrance, but seeing the tears on Sylvie’s face was enough to tell him it hadn’t been good.
He came over as soon as the guard he had in Shiver had informed him she was at the family’s house. He didn’t know why she’d go there, but he didn’t want to take any chances, especially when he heard his aunties and uncles were present.
Sylvie was crying. She was hurt. That was all he could think about as he stormed towards the dining.
“What is going on here?” He asked trying he best to suppress his rage.
L
“Oh! Nothing much. We were simply having lunch with Sylvie.”
“Yeah, and she got all emotional along the line.
Kage glared at them. Sylvie wasn’t looking at him anymore. Grabbing her bag, she tried running away but Kage held her hand, bringing her to a stop.
She looked at him with teary eyes, not having the strength to argue.
“What did you say to her?” |

“I asked a damn question!”
still sounded calm, only it was deceptive and hinted at a volcano waiting to erupt.
“Watch the tone, boy!” Damien snapped.
“No I won’t! And trust me, it’s going to get a lot worse if you don’t start talking. What the hell did you say to Sylvie?”
“To get rid of the child and have you fred,” his mother said at last. “What? You think we wouldn’t find out she was pregnant and lying about the baby belonging to you?”
Kage’s eyes flashed red. He looked at his mother and thought of the befitting words to say to her If it had been anyone else, he would’ve lost it completely, done things to really hurt them.
“The baby’s mine,” his voice was rather low. “I don’t know what really went down here today, but I need you to know I don’t give a shit about your opinions. Sylvie is carrying my child, we’ll he staying together for as long she’s pregnant, if anyone has a problem with it, you should suck it up.”
“Kage, language!” One of his uncle’s snapped.
“Why can’t you see that this lady is simply munching off of you? Why can’t you see that she’s a cheat and a liar!?”
“Enough!” He yelled. Damn it, he couldn’t hold it in anymore.

Sylvie’s tears had gotten worse, she how whimpered as well. She tried to wriggle her hand from Kage’s, but he wouldn’t let her go. Her heart ached so terribly.
“Do you think yourselves innocent!?” He yelled at them. “You think you’re saints? Or you think I’m ignorant to your fishy lifestyles? I won’t have anyone disrespect me in this manner, ever again. It’s my life! Even if she’s lying to me, your opinions don’t matter. I’ve accepted the babies and that’s all that matters.
Their eyes widened in confusion. “Babies?”
“What do you mean, babies?”
He stepped closer, Sylvie’s hand still in his. I’m giving you this respect cause we’re family, but next time – the next time this happens, I promise, you’ll regret it. I’ll hurt you as much as you hurt her.”
Sylvie was stunned. She looked at Kage as though, he was someone else. It was the first time he was ever standing up for her. and to think it was his own family.
Her heart raced faster, although her tears were still pouring.
Kage led her towards the door.
“Kage! Get back here! Get back here!”
They called after him, but he ignored them, knowing if he had to go back to that dining, he’d do worst things.
