The aura between the immortal and Elsa was worlds apart in difference.
Even though they were in the same body, Darren could clearly sense them individually.
The beauty of the immortal was suffocating, cold and unique. Elsa's beauty was pure.
Darren was shocked by the immortal's sudden advancements.
"Stop, stop, stop..." Darren gently pushed the immortal away.
"I want it," said the immortal in an indifferent tone.
Darren's eyes grew at these words as he got a little confused. He wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry from how awkward it was. "What do you want?" he asked.
"I want to do something indescribable like you did with Elsa." The immortal recalled what Elsa and Darren did in the void that day. She recalled the pleasures Elsa felt when she was intimate with him. The immortal expected to become that close with Darren.
Hearing this, Darren immediately understood what the immortal wanted to do. He shook his head.
"No way!"
The immortal was taken aback by the sudden rejection and asked, "Why can she do that with you, but I can't?"
"Haha." Darren smiled. "She's my wife, and you're not. So I can't."
"I've already told you that I can also be your wife as long as you do the same thing with me."
Darren rolled his eyes and sighed. "You don't understand. Elsa and I have feelings for each other. Stop this. I'm sure you already know that someone's out to kill us. We need to prepare ourselves as soon as possible. If they take action, just defend yourself, and I'll deal with the rest."
The immortal pouted angrily at Darren for a moment; not being able to figure out why Darren refused her. Luckily, her rationality kicked in and she realized she was indeed in great danger. She then decided to drop the argument with Darren.
The immortal realized that Darren just wanted her to be safe so that his wife's soul, in turn, would be safe as well.
An inexplicable bitterness rose up at the bottom of the immortal's heart; one that she'd never felt before. She quickly dismissed the emotion as it made her very uncomfortable.
There were several hours before noon, Darren stopped talking and immersed himself in cultivation.
Knock, knock, knock.
Someone knocked on the door.
"It's time, Darren. Please come to the sacrificial ceremony,"
said the girl.
"Phew!" Darren opened his eyes and found that he had not yet been able to reach the middle-level of the Primary God Realm.
"Okay."
With no time to waste, Darren went out of the stone house with the immortal.
With the girl leading the way, Darren and the immortal made their way to the underground cave. It turned out that the interior was actually very spacious, and brilliant sparkling stones were scattered across the stone walls.
"Here you are,"
said Scar with a chuckle, as he walked out from a dark room. His laugh was noticeably not as friendly as usual. It seemed that the smile had a hint of a wicked smirk in it.
"Didn't you say that there was going to be a sacrificial ceremony? Why are there so few people here?" Darren asked calmly.
"This sacrificial ceremony only requires two people, because you two are the sacrificial offerings!" The short man jumped out with blood lust in his eyes.
"Humph! How dare you attack me? Have you no fear of my master?" Darren spat coldly.
"Don't you have any idea how a sacrificial ceremony goes? Your death has nothing to do with us. No one will even know we killed you.
Now, you there, come on! Release the Iron Spine Beast!"
Boom!
A stone door suddenly collapsed, and a pair of scarlet eyes appeared through the darkness.
"I have seized control of the soul of the Iron Spine Beast, and it will spare no effort to rip that guy to shreds. We are going to collect his body in about fifteen minutes," Aidan said to Scar, squinting.
"But what if the Iron Spine Beast destroys the Starry Tower?" the short man asked, a bit concerned.
"Haven't you been listening? I already have control over the Iron Spine Beast. It won't destroy anything valuable. It's just going to kill this guy," Aidan said confidently.
"What if the Iron Spine Beast can't defeat him?" the girl asked nervously.
"Little girl, what do you know? The Iron Spine Beast can even kill a warrior at the upper-level of the Primary God Realm. That young man is only a warrior at the low-level of the Primary God Realm. He can never defeat the Iron Spine Beast," said Aidan, rolling his eyes at the girl.
