Not Again Mr Whitney novel Chapter 21

Rita was holding her coffee and was about to walk into the elevator. Then Vincent came out.

“Why are you here? He didn’t agree?”

Vincent was gasping and he looked at her with yearning in his eyes.

“It’s not what you think. After you left the room, I talked him into reconsidering the cooperation and told him all about our clinic. He’s finally impressed. Now you come up there with me and we can sign the contract.”

“Really?” Rita found it unbelievable. Back when she was still in his office, Paul didn’t seem to be like that.

“Oh, are you thirsty? Drink some water, here you are.”

“I’m good. I just got myself a cup of coffee. Let’s go.”

Vincent squeezed on that bottle of water and then took that cup of coffee from Rita, “You bought this for me, right? You can have this water.”

As the elevator climbing up, the air seemed to get thinner.

Rita held the bottle and wanted to unscrew the cap.

Vincent gazed at her with his mouth open. His heart was pounding loud.

Open it and drink! Now!

Just as Rita was about to open the bottle, the door opened and something flew in and hit her on her wrist.

“Ahhh...” Rita screamed and the bottle of water was dropped onto the floor.

“Calvin? What the hell? Why did you throw that at me?”

Vincent didn’t expect to see Calvin standing in front of Paul’s office. He felt kind of guilty and was afraid to get caught.

“Calvin, when...when did you come here?”

Calvin ignored him and stared at Rita, “Why couldn’t I throw it at you? Why did you come here with him and didn’t even think about informing me?”

Rita enfolded her wrist painfully. Her eyes flashed with anger.

In the past few years, Calvin hadn’t even said anything harsh to her, let alone use violence against her.

And now he dared to hit her with a water bottle.

“Why can’t I come here with him? He can help me, can you? Do you know Mr. Bradford? Do you have any idea how many people came here to seek cooperation?”

“Who are you to throw a tantrum at me? If you are really capable, would I need to tolerate his harassment? How dare you be mad at me?”

“Why are you for now? Vincent has already made the deal.”

Calvin paused, “Already? Seems impossible. Vincent, how did you convince Mr. Bradford? Did you promise to do something for him?”

Vincent was rattled. Did Calvin overhear everything?

No, he was just bluffing. Don’t panic.

“Why do you look so guilty?”

Vincent felt quite uneasy when Calvin was just staring at him. He picked up a bottle and drank a mouthful of water.

By the time he swallowed it, he found out there was another bottle on the floor, which was exactly the same as the one he was holding.

Crap. Did he just drink the wrong one...

No way.

Seeing that Vincent had drunk that water, Calvin gave a subtle smile.

Rita got furious when she saw him smile like that, “Calvin, good for you. Fine, I know you want a divorce as soon as possible and you don’t care about me at all. I won’t let you get your way. I’m not gonna sigh this contract.”

Then, Rita walked back into the elevator.

Calvin turned around and looked at Vincent. He was grinning at him, which crept Vincent out.

“What...what are you laughing at?”

“Nothing. Are you feeling thirsty?”

Hearing that, Vincent did feel kind of thirsty.

“What’s happening? Why am I so hot? Water, I need water.”

Calvin passed him the drugged water and Vincent chugged all of it.

“Water, I want more.”

Vincent’s whole body turned red and he was sweating so heavily like he was fresh out of water.

“You want more water? Okay, I’ll take you to a place where there is a whole lot of water.”

The second Calvin’s hand touched Vincent, he growled like a cat, which scared Calvin away.

“This drug is intense.”
