Not Again Mr Whitney novel Chapter 5

Calvin had checked out several apartments but Shirley hadn’t decided yet because of the rent.

Even though she had been cured, she was still weak and couldn’t work. So they had to live on a budget.

Calvin didn’t want to disobey her and he swore to himself that he would make a lot of money to give her the best life.

After finding a place for his mother to live, Calvin immediately went to the Houston family. Everyone thought that he was the son-in-law of the Houston family. But to the Houstons, he was nothing but a servant and they didn’t even need to pay him.

In the past few days, he didn’t come home very often so he couldn’t do the chores around the house. He could anticipate how the Houstons were going to treat him.

Thank God his difficult mother-in-law Carrie Houston went to Oakshire for vacation with Rita, Calvin wouldn’t need to suffer so much.

After gaining the power of Master Malandra, Calvin could feel his physical condition was a lot better.

In the past, he was constantly weak and got sweaty and puffy easily because he couldn’t have enough food to eat. So the Houstons always mocked him and called him a “trophy wife”.

And now he had run ten miles and still hadn’t felt tired.

At the corner ahead, there were a bunch of crowds. Calvin went near and found out there had been a car accident.

In front of a red Ferrari, an old man was lying on the ground. He had got a dent on his forehead and his nose and mouth were bleeding heavily. His blood had stained the area nearby and he was about to die.

Next to this, there was a woman dressed in a pink uniform. She looked quite worried and was dialing 911.

The people around all sighed and shook their heads, “What a tragedy. The old man might not have a chance to live.”

“Actually, they can’t blame it on that woman. The old man was a little deaf and that woman hit him only because she was dodging another car that was running a red light.”

“Anyway, she’s in big trouble now. This might cost her at least hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

“You don’t need to worry for her. Look at that car. It’s way expensive than that.”

Calvin was looking on in the crowd. Someone next to him was pushing this way, “Excuse me, young man.”

“Sir, I think you should better avoid this scene. It’s too much for you to watch.”

Calvin turned around and saw a slender old man with a tobacco pipe in his mouth. And the pipe was very unique and was shaped like a bird.

“I know, I just wanna see how I died. That car was way too fast.”

Calvin swallowed a bit and was about to make some room for that old man. Then he knocked into a middle-aged man.

“Stop pushing me. Why would a young man like you be here instead of your office?”

Calvin said quietly to him, “Sir, do you see an old man with a pipe in his mouth here? He’s standing next to you.”

“What’s wrong with you? What old man?”

Calvin reached out his neck and looked ahead. The old man who was hit by the car was lying there with a bird-shaped pipe in his hand.

And the old man next to him sighed and shook his head after seeing this, “Why a car accident? How miserable is that! Well, I don’t wanna see this anymore. I’m gonna go on my way.”

His body began to fade like smoke in the air.

Calvin subconsciously grabbed his arm like the old man was real.

The old man was in shock, “Kid, you?”

Calvin calmed himself down. After he knew a few things about his supernatural power, he didn’t get startled so easily.

What he was holding in his hand was the old man’s soul. Once the soul was gone, the man would definitely be gone. What if he put his soul back into the man’s body? Would he come back to life?

He decided to give it a try.

The doctors had already covered the old man’s head with white cloth and was about to carry him into the ambulance.

Calvin suddenly came forward and drew the doctors’ attention.

“Dude, what are you doing?”

Calvin lifted his right hand and looked very weird.

“I’m going to save him.”

The doctors looked at each other and questioned, “Save him? He’s already dead.”
