After sending Emma away, Daphne breathed a sigh of relief. If Einma saw all these red marks, she would definitely spread the news everywhere. She really couldn’t keep things to hersell.
Over at the United Federation, Lester was finding it impossible to forms on his work.
Whenever he tried to read a report, he remembered what had happened last night. Then, he would catch himself smiling
He didn’t know why, but he really wanted to see Daphne, He wanted to hear her voice
After some hesitation, he couldn’t resist calling her. He had saved her contact number while she was asleep,
Daphne had just finished drying herself off and was about to get dressed. She chose a long–sleeved top and pants to hide all the hickeys on her skin.
Her phone suddenly rang, making her jump. Besides Lenko, she didn’t have any other contacts.
Why was the caller ID a saved contact?
She answered in confusion
“How’s your body feeling?”
It was Lester’s voice.
“How… how did you get my phone number?” Then, she realized it was a silly question. He was a colonel, Getting her number would’ve been easy. “I feel a lot better, she continued
“Alright. When I get back, I’ll bring you some ointment. That’ll help you heal taster,”
Daphne mumbled sortly, “Olay.”
“What are you doing right now?”
Could she really say it? But they had already slept together. So, why was she getting shy now?
“I’m talking shower.”
“okay”
Silence tell between them
Finally, Lester spoke again. “I just wanted to hear your voice. I’ve heard it now.”
“Oh. Then, I’ll hang up.”
“Alright”
The moment the call ended, Dapline felt so embarrassed she wanted to scream. Why was she acting like this?
On the other hand, Lester felt a surge of excitement. So this was what being in love felt like. It was strange and wonderful.
Right then, Victor entered the boom. Tester immediately switched back to his usual cold expression
“Colonel Lester, the Renegade Coalition has been very active since last night. They’vealready caused two incidents just this moming ”
