Jessica then saw a cold face. The man was standing at the door in a thin shirt.
She said in a low voice, "Why are you standing outside? It's cold."
The man ignored her and walked upstairs.
When they got to the room, Jessica explained, "I came back late because I happened to meet my old friend and we had dinner together."
Oliver said coldly, "Old friend? A man or a woman?"
"Don't be so sarcastic. I don't know why you're unhappy. Why don't you put it bluntly?
The man walked towards her and smelled her like a dog. "I don't like the smell of alcohol on you. Go wash yourself."
Jessica didn't want to see his gloomy face, and she went into the bathroom with her bathrobe.
She had been out in the cold wind for a long time and met so many people at night. Lying in the bathtub, she felt relaxed. Now, the small but warm bathroom completely separated her from the cold man outside.
She pondered for a long time. Whether she was at the company or at home, her behaviors were normal. But Oliver treated her in a way that was the same as she had just moved into GrandVille Apartments.
She had just felt her future would be brighter, but the hope was gone again.
Lying in the bathtub, she didn't want to go out at all. She wondered what was waiting for her.
After the bath, Jessica dried her hair and then cleaned up every corner of the bathroom. She was afraid that Oliver would nitpick about the details when he came in to take a shower.
When she walked out, she saw Oliver coming in from outside. They looked at each other and then Jessica looked away, pretending to be calm. "It's getting late. Go to bed early."
She went to the other side of the bed and was about to lie down, but she heard a cold voice coming from her head. "Why, you've enjoyed a good time outside and immediately go to bed after coming back? You think my home is a hotel?"
Oliver approached her and said. "Tell me, where did you go today?"
"I've told you that I had dinner with my old friends."
Her tone became impatient.
Of course, she also felt guilty because she did spend most of her time with Lambert today. Oliver was quite suspicious, and she didn't want to irritate him, so she didn't tell him that.
Oliver untied Jessica's pajamas. His eyes fixed on her body as if he was searching for something, which made Jessica scared.
"Oliver, what are you doing?"
"I want to check if there are any marks on you."
Jessica grabbed the quilt and tried to cover her body. "Are you insane? Please don't insult me."
The man pulled the quilt off her.
