Gabriella’s POV
Address, I sent a text message to Javier. He didn’t spend any time. He responded with the address in a text. Gabriella had previously moved in when Javier returned. The workers first tried to keep her out, but when they heard Xander calling her mother, they voted to allow her in. One helper showed Gabriella to Javier’s room, and she put her belongings in the closet. She then went to the kitchen and requested the chef if she may cook for today just. She didn’t feel compelled by the woman. They have exhausted her since she let Gabriella cook. With the aid of the chef, Gabriella readied the dinner table. Xander wasn’t quite ready. They engrossed him in video games. I knew it was Javier when I heard a vehicle drive up, so I called Xander to come down the stairs. He rushed in and snatched his seat. The door opened with a click. He was the one. It was Javier Hills, for crying out loud. I'll love torturing him until he decides.
Javier’s POV
The scene I saw as I went inside my home made me want to cry. Gabriella and Xander looked as though they had always belonged to those seats. They appeared to fill in the gaps in my life, and everything seemed in order. I swear I’d murder anybody who tried to stop me from viewing this breathtaking sight. I’m not sure what I should do to make my life more easier. I need to explain to Sandra why I haven’t been sleeping with her and why the engagement was not my idea. After all, I didn’t even purchase the ring or put it on her finger. Grandma Purchased the ring and wore it herself, I didn’t put the ring on her. I’m not sure how I’m going to convince Gabriella that I need this. He tossed everything to the side and sat down at the table. He kissed Gabriella on the neck and kissed Xander. His backpack was slung over the chair. Gabby and Xander both extended their hands. It took some time for Javier to figure out why he needed to bind his hand to theirs for them to pray as a family. The guy had never prayed before, but he didn’t seem to mind just now. He was ready to do something he’d never done before with his new family.
“Father in the name of Jesus.” Thank you for the delicious dinner which we will consume, prepared with so much care. Father, it is a sin for a man and a woman to stay together outside of wedlock.
Wasn’t the purpose of the prayer to bless the food?
I gazed at Gabriella with one eye open. While Xavier and I stared at her, her eyes were closed. Xavier did nothing but close his eyes and shrunk his shoulders. I followed suit, shutting my eyes. Then I heard her say something. “Father God, please don’t send me a spouse who isn’t sure what he wants.” Bless me with a completely dedicated spouse who will put his family first. It is a sin to engage in fornication. We won’t commit adultery since I don’t have a ring on my finger.
What is the purpose of this prayer? Is she going to use God to take away my rights?
I waited for her to complete her prayer before opening my eyes. I shifted my gaze to Xavier. The youngster had already eaten. I heard an Amen after a time. I will not say Amen to that. She made things interesting at my office today by asking me to say Amen to the prayer. That will not happen. With daggers in my eyes, I glanced at her.
“How was your day at work, Mr. Hills?”
