Chapter 278
Audrey
Before I could even answer his question, Edwin rushed past me and locked the door. When he turned back to me, grinning from ear to ear.
he was
The sight of that mischievous look on his face made my breath hitch. Once, it had been like pulling teeth to get the man to smile. And now here he was, beaming at me every chance he got like a kid on Christmas morning.
Maybe he and Peter weren’t so different after all.
“You’re locking me in, huh?” I teased, although I knew exactly where this was going.
His lips curved as he took two long strides back toward me, slow and confident. “Oh, yes,” he murmured, his voice low and husky. “We wouldn’t want anyone walking in on us, would we?”
Suddenly, his hands were on my waist, pulling me closer, and in one seamless move, he lifted me off the floor.
Instinctively, I wrapped my legs around his waist. My arms wound around his neck as he pressed me against the wall. I wanted him, badly, but we were also technically still… in public. Even now, as he sandwiched me between his body and the wall, I could hear people passing by and talking in the hallway.
“Edwin,” I whispered, glancing toward the door. “We could get caught…”
His lips found my jaw, trailing down to the sensitive spot below my ear, and a soft gasp escaped me before I could hold it back. “Let them catch us,” he whispered against my skin, low and unbothered. “We’re the Alpha and Luna of Crescent. Who in their right mind is going to stop us?”
A blush crept up my neck at the reminder of our status and all the little perks that came with it, but his mouth was back on mine, stealing the last of my protests. His kiss was firm, claiming, and any thoughts of the outside world dissolved as my fingers knotted in his hair and pulled him closer.
Within moments, the room around us had disappeared. All that was left was the undeniable heat between us and the soft glow of the vanity lights.
The kiss deepened, and I let myself get lost in it, in him, in the taste of his tongue and the scent of his cologne. His hands slid down, gripping my hips possessively. He held me like I weighed nothing, and I felt his teeth begin to nip at the collar of my shirt in an attempt to tug it aside.
Chuckling, I reached up with one hand and undid a few buttons, revealing my breasts to him. A low growl rumbled in his chest as he saw what I was wearing beneath–what I had sneakily slipped on this morning when his back was turned.
A lacy red balconette bra.
“You’re impossible,” he huffed. His mouth was on me again, only lower this time, trailing blazing paths across the soft mounds of milky white flesh where my breasts were bulging out over the top of the bra.
There was a hunger in the way he nipped and lapped at my skin still pressing me up against the wall. My breath quickened, and I tangled my fingers in the short hairs at the back of his neck, forcing him closer. He growled at the touch and whirled us around, practically throwing me down on the vanity.
The vanity mirror slammed against the wall, but he didn’t seem to care. Neither did I. He straightened, my legs still wrapped around his hips, and began frantically tugging at his belt.
With my heart rate spiking, I hiked up my skirt, revealing the next little surprise that I’d kept hidden beneath the tartan fabric all morning.

“Goddess above, Audrey”
win ground out hoarsely, his jaw clenched just from desire. “Thigh highs? And a garter belt? When did you have time to manage all of this?”

I just smirked and shrugged a shoulder, suppressing a shiver as he pinched the soft mound of my pussy between his thumb and forefinger. His thumb traced a slow circle right in the center He knew the exact spot that gave me the most pleasure without even having to look.
“There’s always time,” I whispered, grabbing the wrist of his free hand and pulling it close to peer at his watch. The movement caused him to topple forward, and he caught himself on his other palm, caging me against the hard wood of the vanity. “But maybe not enough time to waste right now.”
Edwin’s eyes flashed, and he got what I was hinting at. Without a word, I heard the metallic sound of a buckle opening, followed by a zipper. He tugged my panties’aside just enough to allow himself access.
“Just one moment, surely,” he huffed as the warm, throbbing head of his cock pressed against my opening. “One moment to tease you.”
I writhed a little, aching for him to fill me. “One moment, and not one more,” I whispered.
Edwin grinned. Slowly, he traced the outline of my opening with the tip of his manhood, his warmth seeping into me. His eyes were half–lidded and husky, but his lips were quirked up in a smirk as he tortured me, making the most of that moment I’d allowed him.
Then, when the moment was over, he pushed into me in one swift movement.
The pleasure was intense and immediate. The mirror banged against the wall as he frantically worked himself into me, raven hair falling into his eyes. I muffled my cries against the buttery flesh of his neck, raking my nails across his back, yearning for more skin–if only we had time to fully disrobe. But today, or at least right now, we would have to settle for layers of wool and silk between us.
It wasn’t long before I could feel it, that silvery glow building and radiating through me, reaching its peak. Edwin grabbed the scarf that was still around my neck and tugged me closer with it, pulling me up so that I was perched on the edge of the vanity.
As he pumped himself into me, he pressed his lips to the spot where he had marked me. The world tilted as our bond ignited, and everything in me lit up, bright and untethered, my back arching and head thrown back, as we fell over that edge together.
Slowly, the world came back into focus. I’d almost forgotten where we were in those last moments, but found myself in that stuffy little room again. My heart was still racing, but I felt calm. Loose. Empty and satisfied.
