Chapter 1531

As if to prove she was not lying, Joanne locked eyes with Edwin and said disgustedly, "The smell from your scald makes me feel sick."

Edwin's elegance, which had been maintained for the whole night, instantly disappeared.

His face darkened as he said through clenched teeth, "Say that again."

Seeing his sullen face, Joanne put a finger on her lips and chided with a regretful look, "Keep your voice down. Don't disturb Tail."

She pushed Edwin out of the ward. "Go to the doctor. I will stay here."

Edwin clasped her wrist, thinking, 'Does she really not care about me at all?'

"Go with me."

"No..."

"I'll have a nurse watch Tail. Don't forget who got me hurt like this."

Edwin guessed her answer and quickly cut her off. He dragged Joanne away.

Inside the doctor's office.

The doctor looked in shock at Edwin's bloodied chest and abdomen.

He thought, 'I gave Mr. Atherton the ointment for the burns. Why does it not work? His wounds are even getting worse.'

The doctor put on his gloves and was about to treat Edwin’s wounds.

Edwin didn't let the doctor get close to him. He gave Joanne the forceps, the ointment, and gauze, and his deep eyes looked unblinkingly at Joanne. Edwin said, "You think I'd let a male doctor touch me? Joanne, you injured me, so you should take responsibility."

Joanne didn't want to see him. When she heard his threat, she felt that he was being jerk.

"You are the one who is in pain. Do as you please."

Edwin saw a hint of disdain on her face, his face livid." Joanne, I don't believe you have no feelings for me anymore. If you don't help me deal with my wounds, I'll just wait until my chest rots and I get seriously infected and go to ICU."

The doctor watched the two interact. He was relieved to see Joanne finally agree to help Edwin with his wounds.

The hospital was owned by the Atherton family, so if something happened to Edwin, the doctor would be fired.

Tail had been weak and often sick since she was born, so Joanne learned how to take care of patients. She had got a nurse's license and knew how to treat wounds.

Maybe because of her anger, Joanne was not gentle at all when she was bandaging Edwin.

The gauze was stained with blood, and the inner layer was soaked. Edwin's wounds were squeezed, but no matter how hard Joanne wrapped the gauze, Edwin didn't make a sound, only admiring her beautiful face sideways.

Joanne's rage gradually turned into discomfort as she was stared at by his intense, deep eyes.

After taking care of his wounds quickly, Joanne helped him take off his dirty shirt and gave him a hospital gown.

"Wear this for now. I'll have someone bring you clothes tomorrow."

"Help me. I can't lift my arm." Edwin pressed his chest with one hand and pretended to cough in pain.
