Chapter 579
"Had I not treated you well all these? You only wanted me dead!"
He had mustered all his strength and channeled it onto his palm, Maia’s face almost dislocated from receiving the slap.
Everything fell silent. Maia could feel her blood boiling in her vessels. She looked at Richard in disbelief. "You slapped me? How dare you slap me? I could kill your child right now! I... I..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she felt her head heavy. She did not manage to catch her last breath and passed out immediately.
The police officers saw this and immediately came forward to control the situation.
Richard pushed the police away and then held Maia in his arms affectionately, not allowing anyone to get near to them. He muttered, "Why did you never love me? I had always loved you..."
The police officers exchanged looks. They were not moved by the scene at all but only felt it spooky.
That night, Cedrick received a message.
Richard was caught and sent to prison. Maia was sent to the prison hospital. She was lucky to survive after so many events, and her baby was also saved.
The Kingsley family sent someone to deal with the police, hoping to bail Richard out.
However, Grandpa Mason stood in the way and forcefully blocked their path.
The two could not get away with anything and could only wait for a few days until they were sent back to the country.
Once they were in the country, they could do nothing but admit their crimes even if they had superpowers.
After all, the evidence was indisputable.
Catelyn was relieved.
Compared to Richard, she hated Maia more.
She believed that it was, as Richard claimed, it was Maia behind everything.
She also remembered that she had attempted to frame Miles before and bullied Ollie and could not help but feel an extreme hatred towards her.
She thought that as soon as Maia was sentenced, she would purchase some fireworks to celebrate!
Grandpa Mason was too exasperated and somewhat blamed Cedrick for some of this. Therefore ever since the two of them were caught, he had not once visited Cedrick at all.
Cedrick, on the other hand, was enjoying his peace.
He could already imagine what Grandpa Mason would say to him.
It would probably be along the lines of he was too good for Catelyn and that Catelyn was probably a gold digger to be after their family wealth. He had heard this a thousand times before this.
Catelyn had not been so relieved in a long while too. She had a good sleep in the room next door.
She was woken up by Joanne’s call.
