Chapter 997
’It's all thanks to her!’ said Edwin as he looked at Joanne.
She retorted angrily. "What does it have to do with me? I didn't ask you to come to look for me in the rain. Why are you blaming me?"
Edwin's face turned dark as he heard Joanne's words. Catelyn was speechless as well. Joanne was pretty bold today.
"Kitty, I apologize," Edwin said suddenly.
Catelyn was confused. "What for?"
"I'll be taking Joanne away from you for now,” replied Edwin. He then stretched his hands out and dragged Joanne to his bedroom.
"Ah! No! Kitty, save me!’ Joanne let out a piercing cry.
As Edwin brought her into his room, he pressed her against the door and kissed her deeply.
They both were doing it until it was almost midnight. After two hours, Edwin was finally done. He lowered his head and left a kiss on Joanne's forehead. "Don't you ask me for a divorce without giving birth to a child. I know that you want to break the contract. Because of that, you'll never make it big for the rest of your life. Oh, and all those actresses who were related to you, they'll all be banned as well," said Edwin.
Joanne was silent. Soon, gurgling water was heard in the bathroom as she cried in there silently.
If she wanted to divorce him, she had to give birth to a child?
Why had she been unable to conceive?
Suddenly, Edwin's cell phone started buzzing on the bedside.
Joanne feebly reminded him from the bathroom, "Wild Beast, your phone is ringing."
No one responded.
Joanne just ignored it, but the constant vibrations made her sleepless.
Unable to take it anymore, she kicked off the blanket and lazily got up off her bed to take the phone.
Joanne wanted to mess around with Edwin's phone to avenge his evil deeds. However, as soon as she picked up the phone and heard the voice on it, she was instantly stunned.
"Eddy! Eddy! Why won't you forgive me?" A woman's mournful and humble plea was heard from the other side of the receiver. The background sound was pretty noisy, like being in a certain bar or club.
Joanne's breathing froze.
"It was your father who threatened me to leave you back then, and I didn't want to. Now that I have finally come back, can't you give me another chance? I know you have a wife, but I won't disturb her. I just want to be close to you..." wailed the woman.
