Chapter 16 She's Not Bad
Olivia drove to the Hilton Hotel to pick her up.
As soon as they entered, she sniffed around like a police dog.
Emily chuckled, "What are you sniffing for?"
"I'm sniffing out the scent of a scumbag," Olivia said seriously as she sniffed from the living room to the bedroom, nodding in satisfaction. "It seems Mr. Satan is a good man. I trust him with you."
Emily laughed, "You can tell he's a good man just by his smell? That's impressive!"
Olivia proudly puffed out her chest, "Let me tell you, scumbags always have one characteristic—they carry the scent of other women. Whether it's the smell of makeup or perfume, I can sniff it out. You, I know you the best. Even though you used to be a makeup artist, you rarely use makeup. So, I can easily tell whether Mr. Satan has had close contact with other women."
Emily nodded after hearing this; it made some sense.
"Hey, Emily, do you want a job?"
Of course, she did.
But she didn't have a college degree or any special skills. Finding a job wasn't easy, and she also had to go to the hospital at noon to bring lunch to her father. It wasn't easy to balance regular working hours with that.
Olivia patted her chest, "Leave it to me; if there's a suitable opportunity, I'll call you."
At dusk, Olivia took Emily to the beach.
She said, "There's a party on a yacht today, and almost all the wealthy people in New York City will be there. You can meet more people and make friends. Maybe you'll even find out who Mr. Satan really is."
The first half of Olivia's words didn't interest Emily at all, but the second half firmly grasped her heart.
According to Olivia, today's party was hosted by a very prestigious but mysterious billionaire. He invited almost all the business tycoons and political celebrities in New York City. Mr. Satan was very likely to be among the invited, and attending such a party, he couldn't possibly wear a mask again; he must show his true face.
Emily was a little nervous; her palms were sweaty.
She didn't intend to pry into Mr. Satan's privacy; she just really wanted to know who the person she slept with every night really was.
More importantly, she wanted to know if he was single.
She was someone who's been hurt before, so she didn't want to ruin anyone else's feelings.
Olivia put a pair of sunglasses on her. The lenses were large, covering almost half of her face, making her look more delicate.
Before coming, Olivia also took her to do her hair and makeup, bought her an evening gown. The current Emily was completely different from her usual self; she was almost unrecognizable.
"You look so different now; I almost didn't recognize you," Olivia said with satisfaction as she looked at Emily and adjusted her bangs. "Emily, you should dress up more; you look really beautiful when you do."
Emily felt a little embarrassed, "Olivia, thank you."
Olivia showed the invitation to the doorman and successfully boarded the yacht with Emily.
