Chapter 96 Ill Intentions
"Nathan, you're so good to me."
Nathan ignored her and headed straight towards the balloon vendor. But after taking a couple of steps, he realized his wallet was still in the car and turned back to retrieve it.
Just as he turned around, he saw Emily standing not far away.
Clearly, Sophia hadn't anticipated Nathan suddenly turning back.
She had sent Nathan to buy the balloon to prevent him from seeing Emily, but his sudden turn had foiled her plan.
Seeing Nathan staring at Emily with infatuation, Sophia was burning with anger. Suddenly, she tightly furrowed her brows and squatted down. "Ouch..."
"What's wrong?" Grace asked worriedly. "What happened, Sophia?"
Sophia gave Grace a signal, and Grace also noticed Emily, as well as Nathan staring blankly at her. She frowned slightly.
"Mom, I twisted my foot."
Grace cooperated with her and called out loudly, "Nathan! Come quickly, your wife is injured!"
Nathan frowned, but he didn't move from his spot, still staring intently at Emily and her pink sports car.
He sneered inwardly. That car was undoubtedly Jackson's. With Jackson's taste, he actually agreed to have his car painted in this girlish pink color. Emily, you sure have some charm. Jackson knows you have a man, yet he still wants to impress you like this.
"Nathan?" Grace saw him not budging, so she walked over directly to remind him. "Nathan, Sophia is hurt. She's also carrying your child. Go check on her."
With Grace's reminder, Nathan had no choice but to go back.
He turned his head and saw Sophia squatting on the ground, holding her ankle in pain.
He walked over. "What happened?"
Sophia pinched her thigh, forcing tears to well up. "I just twisted my ankle, it hurts so much..."
Nathan glanced at her high heels and felt a hint of impatience. "You're pregnant, why wear such high heels?"
"Girls like to look beautiful! Wearing high heels makes my legs look slender, and it enhances my body proportions."
Nathan sneered inwardly.
During the past few days at home, Sophia had only worn a loose robe and slippers. Nathan was used to seeing her bare-faced, but now she had put on exquisite makeup, wearing a beautiful dress and high heels, she seemed like a different person.
But, Sophia still couldn't compare to Emily.
After seeing Emily, Nathan felt Sophia's sophisticated makeup looked somewhat tacky.
Sophia was still in pain. "Nathan, you have to help me walk today."
