When their car was on the road, Matthew held his wife gently in his arms. He sat quite still, anger still surging through him. Just a moment ago, when he arrived at the room, he found the room had been inundated with reporters. If he hadn’t let his bodyguards hold the reporters off, negative comments about Blanca would spread very quickly via the internet soon.

“How can you be so naive, Blanca?” Matthew murmured. Blanca was so immaculate that she even had never doubted the man’s identity and had just gone straight with him. He stroked Blanca’s face gently, as if he was touching his most treasured thing. His driver cast a sideways glance at Matthew. He had never seen Matthew like this. In his mind, Matthew was pompous and arrogant. He seemed to be a man who did not care about anyone or anything. Come to think of it, the driver let out a long sigh, for he knew Mrs. Grant was being set up this time.

When Matthew lifted Blanca out of the car, Curtis was waiting at the door. He had taken that Clark White to the basement and locked him up. As Matthew passed Curtis, he casually said, “Keep an eye on the jerk! He needs to pay for what he has done.”

“Yes, Mr. Grant.”

Then Matthew nodded and took Blanca to their bedroom. He laid her in the bed and tucked her in. He peered down at his wife, who was still in a coma, frowning slightly. When he sat on the edge of the bed beside Blanca, her eyes opened. She seemed a little mystified and looked around in surprise. Then she looked at Matthew in disbelief. Was she dreaming? How did she get here? Did Matthew save her again, just like before?

“Matthew,” Blanca called his name. She had never thought she could be saved. It was just like a dream. She threw her arms round her husband’s neck. His warm breath came all round her. Holding him made her feel safe. But when she thought about what just happened, she could not stop her whole-body trembling.

“Don’t worry. I’m right here,” Matthew tried to calm her down.
