As for this Mary, she was just an ordinary employee, throwing her weight around because she had a cousin in HR, and always trying to get Matthew’s attention.
Now, using her to insult Blanca in Matthew’s view, he’d dislike Mary for it, and Blanca herself would lose face. Two birds, one stone.
Lisa covered her lips and giggled. “Never mind, Mary.”
Blanca grew a bit perplexed. These two were acting weird.
What’d she said to get called a bumpkin?
And what was wrong with this floor? This was the chairman’s floor. Where’d they get off holding their noses in the air?!
“Stop beating around the bush and just say what you mean.”
“If you don’t get it, I’ll tell you – this outfit of mine can only be worn once. When it gets dirty, you can’t wash it. It’s no good afterwards.”
Blanca recalled how she’d read in magazines that a lot of designer clothes weren’t designed for everyday wear. Those ladies and starlets would only wear those once.
But what this woman was wearing … wasn’t that sort of exorbitantly expensive outfit. Definitely not to the point where it couldn’t be cleaned. She was obviously saying all that just to be difficult. Blanca didn’t have the patience to squabble on and just wanted to resolve it all, so-
“Fine! Then I’ll just pay you back fifteen thousand, is that all right?”
Blanca was about to turn and go to Matthew when that Mary grabbed her wrist. “It is not all right?”
“You’re not done?”
Blanca muttered, staring coldly at Mary.
“I told you, this outfit is high end and rare! Even if you have me a hundred thousand, I couldn’t get it again!”
“So what do you want?”
