Nadine walked briskly, determined not to let Travis' words sway her.
Thankfully, her rationality kept her from believing what he said, and she left resolutely.
As Travis watched her hurried departure, he shook his head with a sigh. "Mr. Hamilton, why can't you understand a woman's heart?"
Inside the ward, Travis relayed everything he had observed to Adam.
The previously lethargic Adam perked up and motioned for Tavis to come closer. "Help me sit up. There's going to be quite the show."
He knew Brad's stubbornness all too well.
If Brad had any real intention of divorcing Nadine, it would have happened by now. It seemed he wasn't as indifferent to Nadine as he pretended to be.
Adam beckoned Travis to lean in and whispered instructions in his ear.
Travis nodded repeatedly as he listened. "Got it. I'll take care of it right away."
…
Winter nights arrived especially early. By 4:30 pm, the sky was already dark.
The wind howled, stripping the last few remaining leaves from the bare branches.
After leaving the hospital, Nadine pondered her next move.
If she went to Hamilton Estate now, she would have to go into Phoenix Villa to take Sean.
Brad, that scumbag, would surely be there, and she didn't want to see him.
After tightening her scarf and steeling herself, she headed toward Hamilton Estate.
