The next day morning, Adelaide heard Clarissa making a loud noise vaguely outside.
Adelaide had witnessed Clarissa’s movie-king like acting skills. She turned over and was about to continue sleeping.
“Antonio, I feel bad. I couldn’t even stand firm!”
Adelaide jumped up reflexively. She knew that Clarissa was saying this to have her “donate blood”.
Adelaide didn’t even put on her shoes. She rushed out of her bed and was about to lock the door.
Unexpectedly, Antonio turned the doorknob at the same time. The moment he opened the door, he saw Adelaide stood at the door in panic. She didn’t put on her shoes and her hands held the doorknob.
He expression froze abruptly. He asked though he already knew the answer, “What are you doing!”
Adelaide’s body trembled. She spoke as she shivered, “Antonio, Antonio. Please don’t make me donate my blood. I beg you.”
She could only plead with him.
Hearing that, Antonio’s expression darkened, “Since you heard it, then come out right now.” Antonio grabbed her wrist. The latter, as expected, kept retreating.
He frowned and his look was as cold as ice, “That’s your sister. How can you be so indifferent!”
Adelaide was going to explain, but another noise came from the inside. However, the person who spoke changed.
Damla had a feeling for the baby in Clarissa’s belly, which was considered to be the legitimate baby of Antonio. Along with the money she received yesterday, Damla now completely changed her side to help Clarissa, “Master, please come! Ms. Clarissa passed out.”
“Go!”
Damla’s words tugged the last string of Antonio’s heart. He no longer wasted time on Adelaide and stepped behind the door, taking away Adelaide’s hand from the doorknob. Regardless of whether she agreed or not, he dragged her all the way to Clarissa’s room.
At this moment, the family doctors and the nurses were already waiting next to Clarissa’s bed. The new nurse walked fast to Adelaide. Seeing the latter was not willing to donate blood, she comforted, “Hi, an adult can donate 200-400ml of blood each time. We will only take 200ml, which will not have any affect on you.”
“No! Antonio, don’t. I am also carrying your baby!”
Adelaide didn’t give up pleading.
Antonio didn’t even hesitate. His hand on her applied even more forces. A word came out of his mouth coldly, “Now!”
The needle in the nurse’s hand just penetrated through Adelaide’s skin and some blood oozed out. Her eyes widened and after a moment, she fell down straightly.
When she woke up again, she found herself already back into the room. She didn’t know whether 200ml of blood was taken from her. She raised her arm and saw the white bandage. She recalled carefully, but she found her memory lost after seeing the blood.
She swallowed the saliva and the dry taste spread in her mouth. It wasn’t until now that she realized that she didn’t brush her teeth or wash her face.
It was lucky that she didn’t feel very weak. Adelaide got off her bed with her teeth gritted. She went into the bathroom to tidy herself. If not the white bandage on her arm, perhaps she would think that she just had a nightmare.
She wanted to drink some water, but there was no drinking water upstairs. She could only go downstairs for water with her cup in hands.
Antonio and Clarissa were eating. Clarissa saw Adelaide with her sharp eyes. The former immediately pretended to collapse into Antonio’s arms weakly, “Antonio, I am still dizzy!”
Since Antonio didn’t take Adelaide’s blood, he felt guilty towards Clarissa. He asked Damla to buy anything that could replenish blood for a pregnant woman.
As he heard that Clarissa was dizzy, he asked nervously, “How are you feeling? Do I need to call the doctors back?”
What could the doctors do?
