When Channing arrived at the Baron’s house, he didn't ring the doorbell and just slammed the door roughly with his hand.
Adelaide was sleeping in her room. She was a light sleeper, so she was waken. She frowned and got up with a jacket.
Since almost miscarried, she knew Damla could not be relied on. Antonio liked to be clean, so all the work at home was done by Damla and Damla's monthly salary was ridiculously high.
So, only she and Damla were in the big villa.
Damla couldn't help her at home, and she didn't expect Damla to do anything now. When Adelaide had just walked out of the room, Damla had already opened the door.
Since there was nothing she needed to do, Adelaide was about to go back to her room to continue to sleep.
"Where's Adelaide, I'm looking for Adelaide!"
"Gosh.
Who are you!"
Damla exclaimed in shock, but it wasn't her fault, Channing was covered in blood, everyone would be afraid of him.
"Cut the crap and tell Adelaide to come see me!
I'm Adelaide's ex-boyfriend."
Channing sat shamelessly on the couch, and he yelled like he was back in his own home.
Adelaide heard this and shuddered. She looked down the stairs, "Ah!"
She took two steps back and her hands clutched her collar, with a look of fear unconsciously running across her face.
"Adelaide, I need to see you for something, come down or I'll go up."
Channing leapt up from the couch, not in the least bit like a badly injured person.
"I'm coming down!"
Adelaide was afraid that he would go to her room, so she jogged to Channing. She had seen his bloody appearance upstairs, but she still backed up in shock.
Channing saw this and his face went blue.
"What?
Afraid of me?"
Adelaide averted her eyes from him.
"Why do you come to me?"
"Adelaide, I'm here today to admit my mistake, I want to expose Clarissa's evil deeds to you."
Channing knew she was scared and wasn't getting any closer.
He didn't wait for Adelaide to chime in but told Adelaide all about the process of meeting Antonio and the banquet on his own.
Adelaide was surprised. She knew Channing wanted to harm her, but she did not know Clarissa was behind him. Although she had wondered if it was Clarissa, she had no evidence. But why Channing came here and told her the truth?
She had to be suspicious and cautious,
"What do you want?"
After a moment of hesitation, Channing told Adelaide all about his injuries and what had happened to him these days.
Upon hearing, Adelaide understood that they had a civil unrest. Although all these were masterminded by Clarissa, Channing was also the one who directly hurt her. Adelaide sneered,
"You deserve!"
"Yes, I deserve it. Help me get back the evidence of my embezzlement of public funds or help me fill in that loophole, I will go with you to Antonio and tell him the truth, and by then Antonio will definitely come back to you."
