President's Contract Wife novel Chapter 54

She takes lunch to the table and Lucien Gray looks at it. He doesn’t pick up his chopsticks and frowns. “Is this the lunch you make for me? How can I eat this?”

“You can eat with chopsticks! You are so picky.” Nina Morrison mutters in her heart. Her face is still respectful, “If you’re not satisfied, I’ll make another one.”

Lucien Gray’s eyes fasten on Nina Morrison, “Your meal is not well cooked. Are you not satisfied with me?”

“No, I just don’t learn the new recipe very well. I’m a little rushed in time.” Nina Morrison respectfully apologizes. She tells herself in her heart that she needs to bear with him.

“I have no appetite. Make some dumplings. You made dough all morning. You should learn it.”

In the big kitchen, Nina Morrison’s wrist is sore. It takes a lot of effort to make the dumplings. As a result, Lucien Gray takes a lazy look at the dumplings on the table and doesn’t taste them. “I’ve been waiting too long and I’m not interested in dumplings anymore. I want fried rice.”

Nina Morrison is aggrieved and angry but she has no choice but to bring the dumplings back to the kitchen and cook fried rice for him.

Nina Morrison’s embarrassment seems to be Lucien Gray’s pleasure. He no longer uses violence against her but is keen to criticize her cooking, her attitude, and even the clothes she wears. Everything is his pleasure.

Nina Morrison is scared of going into the kitchen now. Lucien Gray purely embarrasses her by saying that he wants beef for dinner at noon. Nina Morrison is afraid of being criticized. She cooks all kinds of beef dishes and when it is almost ready in the evening; Lucien Gray says in an uninterested manner, “I don't want beef tonight. I want mutton.”
