Before going upstairs, Hayden asked the servant for burn ointment. She knocked on the door of the cloakroom.
“Come in.”
Joseph had already changed his clothes, and the pajamas that he wore earlier was messily thrown on the ground.
“Are your legs fine? I brought you a burn ointment.” Hayden asked while standing at the door.
Joseph nodded, “Thanks.”
“No worries, the burn ointment is from your house anyway. I’ll put it here for you to apply then. I’ll go out first.”
“No, apply it for me. It’s your porridge that burned me.”
“Hey! Why aren’t you making sense? Did I make porridge just to burn you on purpose?”
“I didn’t say you did that on purpose.”
Joseph looked over at her and said, “Could you help me out? I really don’t know how to use this ointment.”
Hayden’s face turned red as Joseph kept staring at her. She was hesitating for a moment before she took the ointment over.
Hayden bent down and lifted the corner of the towel, revealing a large burnt region on his skin. Her heart throbbed inexplicably when she realized the burn was quite severe.
“Look, you have to rub the ointment between your palms until it feel hot, and then apply to the burned region of your skin.”
She sat down and demonstrated, rubbing a small piece of ointment in the palm of her hand. When she was about to apply the ointment on his burn, she hesitated for a short while, “You should do it yourself.”
She took a step back after saying that.
Joseph suddenly grasped her wrist, “You do it.”
“Why? It’s not like you can’t reach your wound.”
“It’s troublesome.”
Hayden was speechless in an instant, “You can wash your hands after applying it. You’re such a lazy person, young master.”
When Joseph heard her tone of ridicule as she called him ‘young master’, his eyes trembled slightly.
