The call turned quiet. Belle stopped talking as she waited for Naomi's response. Her heart felt like it was about to burst, and it was out of fear that Naomi could be furious.

Belle would be in huge trouble then.

Naomi was silent for a while before saying, "I trust him."

In their marriage, she always trusted him. Since they were divorced, there was no such thing as trust, but under such circumstances, she had to pretend that they were still married. So, she 'trusted' him.

Scott looked at Naomi, watching the changes in her reaction. He seemed to know what the person on the other end of the line was saying. He took all of her responses and expressions in, especially her last sentence.

She trusted him, she said, and she looked firm when she said it. There was no doubt in her expression.

At that moment, Scott felt touched. There seemed to be a warmth growing in his heart, spreading all over his body. It calmed his nerves.

He looked ahead once more, enjoying the warm feeling in his body.

Naomi's call was really long. She only hung up when they almost arrived at their destination.

Belle was still very much a child. Her emotions came and went quickly. When she realized she had spoken out of line, she kept making sure that Naomi was not angry, and that she really trusted Scott.

After that, Belle went on about how great Scott was. She was trying to comfort Naomi, while at the same time comforting herself.

Naomi knew what Belle was thinking. Luckily, Belle was no longer sad, so Naomi was relieved.

When the car arrived, the chauffeur took the wheelchair out of the trunk. Scott got out of the car and placed Naomi in the wheelchair before taking her to meet with everyone.

Everyone had arrived. It was half past eight at that moment.
