At this very moment, Woods' face was extremely overcast. He could never figure out how thirty thousands of his soldiers led by him were almost completely consumed by the ten thousand soldiers in Evian City. They suffered great losses. If they were still unable to occupy Evian City, it would be resulting in a complete failure of his plan and the loss wouldn't be of any worth at all.
"Go and gather all the remaining soldiers who are outside the base right away," Woods ordered right away. Regardless of anything, he determined that the top priority at the moment should be to clean up all those guards of the Evian City.
As the two armies were fighting desperately, Rocky returned back from far away with only a few followers behind him. After they joined in the cruel fight, Rocky was holding a head in his hand, which was actually from a previous fight.
"This is for you, Your Royal Highness." Rocky then threw the head towards Woods.
Woods' face got suddenly darkened as he saw it. He could immediately recognize the head to be that of his Commander's in the Timber Deity Empire.
"Do you still want to continue?" Rocky's words were merciless with a cold look in his eyes.
"Of course I do want to continue this fight. You are left with minimal forces. I defy you to hang on with the few people left by your side. It's only a matter of time for us to overrun the Evian City." Woods was still trying to keep his calm. He was certain that currently Timber Deity Empire was in advantage considering their military forces, and there were only a few people left on Rocky's side. If everything went well, those defenders could be exterminated in less than two hours.
"Oh, I see. But, if you continue fighting, I'm afraid you wouldn't be able to even keep the remaining troops. As soon as one group of the Crimson Dragon Army comes to support, you will be forced to return this city just occupied by you." Rocky raised his eyebrows and said.
Hearing that, Woods' entire face couldn't help but twisted. Rocky was in fact right. If he had continued to fight, his military forces probably wouldn't survive. Actually, the original strength possessed by the Timber Deity Empire was thirty thousand. But it had been reduced to four thousand now. Although there were only few guards left to defend the Evian City now, they had used just less than ten thousand soldiers in total in order to inflict heavy damages to the Timber Deity Empire. This actually meant that the loss of forces for the Timber Deity Empire was three times higher compared to that of their opponents, which was quite unbelievable.
The fact was that Rocky had used ten thousand city guards to block the furious attack by thirty thousand soldiers from the Timber Deity Empire. Therefore, even if the Timber Deity Empire were to capture Evian City from the Crimson Dragon Army, the Timber Deity Empire would end up as the loser.
"Your Royal Highness, you'd better retreat. You have lost this battle again," Rocky said, with a white light flashing across his eyes. There were only few people behind him. But his words sounded as if there were hundreds of thousands of troops behind him with unbeatable spirits and strong will. These words really humbled those present around.
"No, I will take the Evian City no matter what, even if I can't defend it..." It seemed it was extremely difficult for Woods to accept such a kind of failure. In fact, it was mainly because of his self-esteem rather than being defeated. After all, if he could capture the Evian City this time, the Timber Deity Empire would gain an absolute advantage in the battle between the two empires and he himself would be the major contributor to this. It was vitally important for him to compete for his own status as the Emperor of the Timber Deity Empire. That was why he had led the army here in person.
So, if Woods was unable to take the Evian City this time despite losing so many soldiers, it would be considered absolutely unacceptable and a disgrace. If this information reaches back to the Imperial Palace, it was surely not good for him. Therefore, even if he was clearly aware that it was impossible to defend the Evian City all the time, he would occupy the city first to make his efforts worthy, especially after the loss of so many of his soldiers.
"It seems that we are left with no other choice but to defend the city with all our might even unto our death!" Rocky looked so determined. He knew very well that Woods wouldn't let it go just like that. In fact, whatever he said just now was only to try and shake Woods' confidence, but it seemed that Woods was much more persistent than he thought.
Rocky's words aroused the morale of all his Commanders, as well as of the few remaining guards present. Yelling aloud, those warriors surrounded Rocky, all ready to fight with him shoulder to shoulder until the last moment of their existence.
"All of you, attack!" Woods ordered. The remaining Commanders of the Timber Deity Empire and the three Heavenly Stage masters responsible for protecting him, as well as nearly two thousand soldiers of the Timber Deity Empire, all rushed towards the enemy, which was led by Rocky.
Rocky immediately pulled out the Frozen Wind Dagger and turned it into the Flaming Blade. He also called for Uriah and led the army behind him who vowed to protect the Evian City and once again fought against the Timber Deity Empire. Both sides were trapped in an intense fight again.
