"What? The fight in front of the Witch Palace?" Lena asked. Doubt was evident in her tone when she responded after hearing those words.

"So, you really have no idea of what happened before. Maybe I can enlighten you, back then..." The emperor then told Lena the whole story. "What?" Lena found it hard to believe what he just said. A surge of concern rose up inside of her. Her body trembled and she started to regret the time that had passed without seeing Basil. If she had just walked out of the Witch Palace even once, perhaps all this wouldn't have happened. If she was willing to forgive Basil back then, the penalty for his crime would have been less severe. However, it was too late. It was only now that she knew all of this.

"But you don't have to worry too much about him. I have secretly sent people out to know about his whereabouts. As long as he is still within the Gehenna Border, he should be easy to track," the emperor stated as he tried to comfort her.

But he didn't know that he had been kept in the dark all this time. He couldn't know anything about Basil.

"Your Majesty, please find Basil! I want to see him! I must see him!" Tears welled up in Lena's eyes as she pleaded. She felt horrible and thought that Basil had suffered a lot because of her. Now, she didn't know where he was, and she was worried he was not well. Regret was visible on her face as she sobbed.

"If I find him, I'll make sure to tell you." The emperor nodded in agreement. He didn't expect Lena to care about Basil so much.

"Your Majesty, thank you. I truly appreciate it. For now, please excuse me," Lena said after she had regained her composure. She bowed and walked out carefully to leave.

As soon as she walked out of the Violet Cloud Hall, a familiar figure immediately walked up to her.

"Your Royal Highness, the Witch Palace has been cleaned up." It was Randi, Lena's personal maid. She spoke softly and politely and her actions showed respect.

"Randi, I have something to ask you," Lena said in a low voice as her face turned cold and serious.

Randi was confused, but she immediately nodded.

"Did Basil come to the Witch Palace that year?" Lena asked directly. She remembered that at that time, she did hear some absurd noise outside the Witch Palace. She then asked Randi to go outside the palace and check out what had happened. But Randi came back and told her that there was nothing unusual.

Randi wasn't expecting Lena's question. She didn't anticipate that her master would bring up what had happened at that time. Of course, this was a burden she was carrying. She knew there would come a time when she would no longer be able to keep this secret from Lena.

"Tell me," Lena urged after noticing how Randi remained silent, as if she was thinking about what to respond to her question.

"I'm sorry, Your Royal Highness. I didn't want you to be hurt, so I..." Randi explained and trailed off as she knelt down to ask for forgiveness.
