Selena looked up at Madam Samantha and asked, "Mom, who are you talking about?"
"Every person around you," Madam Samantha gently stroked her long hair, "Stanley, your boyfriend, including... your father."
Selena narrowed her eyes.
Madam Samantha looked into Selena's dark and clear eyes. "Selena, never fully trust anyone at any time. Mom can't bear the pain of losing you again."
Seeing the pain in her mother's eyes, Selena realized that Madam Samantha was afraid she would be hurt again and had reminded her on purpose.
Selena rubbed against her mother's shoulder and whispered softly, "I understand now Mom. I will never make the same mistake again."
Madam Samantha looked at Selena's innocent eyebrows and eyelashes with suppressed emotions before closing her eyes.
The daylight outside had completely faded away as a maid walked in quietly. "Madame, it is dinner time for Little Princess."
After having dinner with her mother, Selana originally wanted to call Osvaldo to tell him she wouldn't be going home tonight but Samantha spoke first, "Go back now Selana, and come see Mother when you have more time."
A hint of disappointment flashed through Selana's eyes.
It was always like this.
Her mother loved her but never allowed herself to get too close to anyone else.
As they walked arm in arm together, Selana smiled and asked, "Can I bring my boyfriend next time?"
Madam Samantha chuckled helplessly as she took the clothes handed over by the maid to help dress up Selana while playfully pinching on his nose tip."Let me get to know him first."
Selana liked that man.
From the description she heard from her, it was definitely filtered through the lens of love.
