Chapter 117 If I Say It’s Okay, It’s Okay
“Ahem, well…” Kate cleared her throat, feeling her face heat up as she tried to calm herself. “The dishes are here, let’s eat first. They won’t taste good if they get cold.”
Eric’s face looked calm, but his earlobes were so red they looked like they might bleed.
But inside, he was annoyed. This was the second time, the second time!
First, it was Miles, and now it was the waiter.
At least the last time they got to kiss for a while; this time… It ended abruptly before it even started.
Eric was filled with resentment and silently decided that the next time there was a romantic moment, it had to be at Summer Estate, where they wouldn’t be interrupted!
Little did he know, Kate, whose heart was pounding like crazy, was thinking the exact same thing.
Even though both of their hearts were racing, neither of them showed any emotion and instead calmly started eating.
Eric didn’t eat much; most of the time, Kate had to encourage him to eat more.
As long as he was with Kate, even eating–a task he had hated with a deep–seated loathing since he was a child became strangely enjoyable.
Without realising it, Eric ended up eating more than usual thanks to Kate’s encouragement. By the time he noticed, his gaze at her had become even more intense.
Their meal was mostly quiet, with Kate gently suggesting different dishes for Eric to try, and him responding with a quiet “hmm” and eating. When he couldn’t eat anymore, she didn’t push him and just smiled, “Ric, how about we go to the beach this afternoon?”
Running into Darlene and her friends before the meal had actually put her in a bad mood, and she’d been holding in her frustration ever since.
She had been married to Eric for three years, and for those three years, she’d been immature and constantly fighting with him.
Their constant arguments made everyone think she and Eric were incompatible and that he was. keeping her confined at Summer Estate.
While their relationship had somewhat improved now, people’s perceptions don’t change overnight.
Erie was taken aback when he heard Kate’s suggestion and only realised later. Was she asking me out?
His heart pounded like a drum, but Eric maintained a calm expression. His gaze rested on Kate’s face, unable to bring himself to refuse. “Okay.”
leading it. Afterwards, Lucas was to email him a summary of the meeting.
He hesitated for a moment, and then messaged Eric back: ‘Mr. Davison, this afternoon’s meeting is a big international one about expanding our overseas operations. Shouldn’t you be there to lead it?”
