Chapter 107 Please Go Through the Formalities
Layla waited for a while, but Ethan did not reply. So, she vented her anger on him.
"You brat, I gave birth to and raised you. But you are unwilling to call me Mom! Instead, you happily called that b*tch Mom. What a fool! You are good for nothing but your face."
Then, she turned him over and spanked him hard. Ethan didn't know his mistakes, so he cried severely.
When Gail returned, Layla stopped spanking him, threw him into her arms, and said with a threatening look, "He has quite a temper. Gail, I'm warning you. I will kick you out if you dare to tell others about it."
Although Ethan was not Jacob's biological son, the latter loved him very much because of his face. Moreover, Jacob felt guilty for the deceased child. Layla wanted to use Ethan to marry him, so she must not anger him for such a thing.
Children's skin was delicate. After Layla left, Gail found Ethan's buttocks were red. After caring for him for a year, she had built a bond with him. So, her eyes immediately turned red. And she thought Layla was inferior to Avery, although she was Ethan's mother.
Gail wanted to tell Jacob about it. But after a second thought, she realized it was no big deal. Layla had just taught her son a lesson without causing any severe injuries. If Jacob argued with Layla for this matter, the latter would know she was his spy. Layla was narrow-minded, so she would not let her take care of Ethan anymore after knowing the truth. Therefore, Gail could only swallow the grievance and continue comforting Ethan.
On the roadside near the sea, John played the surveillance video recorded by the hidden camera in the villa. When Jacob saw Layla pour egg liquid on Avery's head, the blue veins on the back of her hand popped out. Fortunately, Avery had fought back. So, he gradually relaxed.
But it was just an appetizer. Layla's following behaviors were outrageous. When Ethan had an accident, she did not go to protect him but continued to ask people to ruin Avery's face. He would not have been intact if Avery hadn't saved him at all costs. After all, the stairs were steep.
