Chapter 108 Isn't the Man Jacob
John was efficient and immediately had the property notarized. Avery knew she had gotten the mansion because she had risked her life to protect Ethan, although she had not thought so much back then. He was Layla's child, but Avery regarded him as innocent.
Knowing the minor injury on her eyebrow bone had helped her regain Adams Mansion, she showed a self-mocking smile. When she closed her eyes, she thought of how Layla had forced her to kneel and couldn't help clenching her fists.
Avery had gotten back to Adams Mansion, and Jacob had not bothered her. So, she had been in a good mood for the past two days.
She had asked Lee to investigate Martin and received some photos from him today. Isabella had washed some cheeriest for her, so she took them over. When she saw the images, all the cherries fell on the carpet.
Isabella was eating cherries, so her mouth turned red. When she turned back and saw Avery's pale face, she hurriedly asked, "What's wrong? Has your stock dropped to its limit down?"
Avery didn't answer but broke out in a cold sweat with a bloodless face.
"What's going on? Does an evil spirit possess you? I'm timid. Please don't scare me! Isabella muttered while picking up the phone from the ground.
The screen was on, so she saw a photo. It was the scene of a car accident. A large truck rushing from the green belt hit a black car.
"Isn't it your dad's car? Are you okay? Why were you looking at such a photo?"
Avery recovered from the shock and tremblingly said, "Look at the other photos."
Isabella also saw something wrong and seriously asked, "Isn't the man Jacob?"
In the next photo, Jacob quietly stood under a tree near the car accident. The dappled sunlight came through between the branches of the trees and shone on his handsome face, making him look cold and scary. And he remained aloof when watching the car accident.
When Avery grabbed Isabella's hand, she found her palm cold and sweaty.
