Jessica's heart couldn't help pounding.
Drake... was so handsome!
The man conformed to all her imagination of her future life companion.
"Don't compare yourself to Sophia. You're nobody!" said Drake in a dismissive tone.
Then he strode away without looking back, leaving Jessica staring after him who was tall and unapproachable.
Jessica clenched her fists with all her strength. It was because she was an illegitimate daughter of the Greenspan family, wasn't it? If she had a high status as Sophia, nobody would give her that strange looks.
Huh! She would prove to everyone that Sophia, the daughter of a wealthy family, would be beaten by her, the illegitimate daughter.
No sooner had Drake arrived home than Sophia smelled the perfume of another woman from him.
"Tell me about it."
Drake smiled, "You really have a dog nose."
Sophia took hold of his collar and questioned, "Explanation?"
Her fierce and cute tone of voice amused Drake. He said, "I hung out with a lady. Do you believe it?"
"The perfume proves it. Is there any reason for me to not believe it?"
Drake held her in arms, "So, what kind of woman do you think I just hung out with?"
"How can I know?" Sophia rolled her eyes at him.
"It was a... a woman called Jessica!"
Sophia frowned, "Jessica?"
"Yes!"
Drake should tell her about it in case that she would be angrier if she knew it later.
"Why is she here?"
"Who knows? Anyway, I came across her, and she got close to me deliberately."
Sophia seemed to understand, "Did she come for you?"
"It looked like this."
"How dare she! She is the same as her mother!"
Drake smirked due to her being jealous, and he also felt warm, so he kissed her on the lips.
"Honey, you look so adorable when you're jealous!"
Sophia's lips twitched, and she said crossly, "Drake!"
"What?"
"Your lips are so oily! How much oil did you eat at lunchtime?"
Drake's lips fell on her lips again, "You can taste it by yourself."
Then Drake lifted Sophia in his arms and walked into their bedroom.
The housekeeper and domestics were smiling. They thought it would take some time for Drake and Sophia to adapt to their relationship because they just made it up with each other.
But it turned out their thought was wrong. Drake and Sophia never forgot about each other, and they seemed to know that they must compensate each other for the loss of their happy time.
That was enough.
...
Scarcely had Drake's car reached in front of his company when a woman ran to his car with her arms spreading.
In fact, Jessica would have been hurt but for Paul's proficient driving.
However, due to inertia, Drake leaned forward when the car braked to a halt.
He asked, "What's wrong?"
"Mr. Riley, it's the woman you met yesterday."
