"It'll be fine."
Sophia hung up the phone and redialed Drake's number. Much to her surprise, Drake refused to answer. When she called him again several times, she couldn't reach him.
Sophia didn't know whether to laugh or cry as she didn't expect Drake to behave so childishly.
Since she didn't have much work in the afternoon, she decided to go to his company to coax him.
When Sophia arrived at the Riley Group, a receptionist walked up to her awkwardly and blocked her way.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Riley. Mr. Riley told us not to let you enter the company just now."
Surprised, Sophia asked, "Did he say so? He didn't allow me to enter?"
"Yes, he did." The receptionist nodded. "Mrs. Riley, I know I cannot stop you. Please have mercy on us. I might sound too rude, but if I lost my job because of your fight, I would feel aggrieved."
Rubbing her brow, Sophia was wordless.
A moment later, she replied, "OK. I got it."
Since Drake stopped her from entering his company, Sophia returned to her own office.
When Drake heard the news that she had left, he went ballistic.
Paul tried to stay away from Drake as far as possible, afraid to become the outlet for Drake's anger.
"How dare she return to her office! Didn't she know what she had done wrong? She does have the guts!"
Although Drake might vent his anger on him, Paul bit the bullet to answer, "Mr. Riley, I don't think Mrs. Riley has done anything wrong. She has paid much attention when having lunch with your cousin, but your cousin is too cunning."
"Do you mean it's all Rashad's fault?"
Paul nodded. "Mr. Riley, please think about it. If Mrs. Riley had a crush on Rashad, she would be with him a long time ago and wouldn't wait until now. Evidently, Rashad has liked her since high school but has never had a chance to confess his love to her. Probably he didn't think he deserved Mrs. Riley, since he knew how talented and wealthy she was."
"Besides, you were always with her in the past few years. Finally, he had a chance to return to her, so he wanted to get rid of you..."
Paul broke off and glanced at Drake secretly. Seeing Drake was still calm, he continued, "The photo posted on his Facebook page is the best evidence. You had just followed him on it before he posted the photo. After Mrs. Riley called him, he quickly deleted it. His purpose was to disgust you. Mr. Riley, if you believed his words, you would lose."
Drake always had some dirty tricks up his sleeve, but he disdained using them.
However, he realized something today -- even if he didn't do it, others would probably do it.
Drake glanced at Paul. "Your analysis makes sense."
"Not really, Mr. Riley. The onlooker can see most of the game clearly."
"Get your monthly bonus from the accounting department."
Paul was so excited that he almost knelt to Drake gratefully, since he didn't expect to receive the bonus so early.
When Sophia saw Drake again, the latter looked calm as if nothing had happened.
Staring at him weirdly, she asked, "Are you not mad now?"
"When did I become mad?"
"You didn't?"
She wanted to see him in his office earlier, but he stopped her from entering.
