Cathy had wanted to say something when Sophia cut her off, "Or, maybe Uncle William knows how to handle this, he just wanted to call Drake so that you two could be alone?"
William's and Cathy's faces turned red.
Sophia didn't want to talk to them anymore. She walked up to the man who was rear ended and said, "Sorry, sir, for your trouble. I didn't want this to happen. Should we repair your car for you or should we compensate you money so that you can have it repaired yourself?"
"Just give me the money."
After the man said so, Cathy looked at him in disdain, "You just wanted more money."
The man was pissed and was about to refute when Sophia said, "Shut up, Cathy! If you could handle this, do it, otherwise, stay away."
"Mind your tone!" Cathy was upset.
"You said I should mind my tone talking to my uncle, fine. But you're just my cousin and you almost hurt someone. Can't I even yell at you for almost making big trouble?"
"You..."
Cathy had wanted to say something more but Sophia refused to give her the chance.
She turned to look at the man, "Thank you, sir. I heard what you said just now, you did the right thing. There are few people so kind-hearted like you these days. How much money do you think the reparation should cost? I will transfer it to your account right away."
Perhaps because of Sophia's nice attitude, the man checked the damage and said, "I think two thousand dollars will be enough."
William and Cathy were stunned. They had thought he would at least ask for tens of thousands. They were surprised.
Sophia immediately transferred him the money and added a thousand more.
The man looked at her strangely, "You don't need to give me the extra one thousand."
"Of course, I do. You spent time lecturing them just now. One thousand isn't much but I really want to thank you for it."
The man was stunned and said, "If only there are more people like you in this world, miss. Well, this is goodbye then."
The man was obviously a reasonable man. It must be because William and Cathy said something to him that he was so angry just now.
After the man left, Cathy said in displeasure, "Sophia, what were you doing? It's not completely our fault. If he didn't brake all of a sudden, we wouldn't have had a rear-ending. He should pay us!"
"Shut up!"
Sophia yelled again.
But Cathy didn't listen at all, she retorted, "Why should I shut up? I didn't do anything wrong."
"Cathy, you aren't even familiar with traffic rules. You had a rear-end. I checked it just now, he braked in time, you didn't, which was why you hit his car. You have to bear full accountability."
"Moreover, I pay him. It's not your money, why are you so upset? I didn't even say anything about you and you are accusing me? Since you are such a badass, why didn't you refute that guy just now?"
Cathy put on airs, "What's wrong with me?"
