According to Nicole's calculations, it had been nearly twenty minutes since she entered the room. Didn't Colton notice her absence? She panted slightly. If she had only brought her phone with her, no matter what time of day it was, then someone would have been able to come to her rescue.
Her eyes started drooping and she began to wonder what was happening. Then, she became dizzy. After propping her arms on the desk, she staggered and nearly fell over. She felt her vision blurring while her head feeling light and just as she was about to pass out, Zachary suddenly leaned in close to her.
She grunted softly, "Don't—"
However, Zachary approached her step by step until he stood before her.
…
Compared to the activity going on inside the room, the atmosphere outside was shockingly tranquil. Colton intended to find Nicole after dismissing the other businessmen, but when he turned his head around, she had disappeared. He quickly scanned the room but could not locate Nicole.
Where has she gone?
While he was searching for Nicole, Sasha suddenly came up to him. "What are you looking for, Colton?" she asked in a brisk tone, a smile evident on her delicate face.
Withdrawing his gaze, he shook his head and replied flatly, "Nothing. I'm just looking around."
Despite the cold response, she had no intention of backing down. She smiled and continued, "We promised to get together last time, but when I came looking for you, you had already returned to Goldwick. How long are you planning to stay this time?"
Colton pondered for a while before uttering, "Not too long. I will return once I've settled my business with F&R Enterprise."
"Are you available for dinner tonight or tomorrow? It's been a while since we caught up with each other." Sasha was afraid he would refuse her directly, so she hurriedly added, "After all, we've dated for two years. I know we haven't been doing much, but I have a lot to tell you after our separation. Let's have a quick meal together like old friends do."
Without declining her invitation, he nodded and replied, "Sure."
As soon as Colton finished speaking, he noticed a gleam of light from the corner of his eyes. However, before he could respond, Sasha pounced on him. Following a muffled sound, the woman in his arms suddenly went limp. He was still taken aback by the sudden event, so he subconsciously embraced the woman.
She lay limp in his arms; he looked down and saw a large bloodstain on her chest, and his clothing was also stained.
Instantaneously, the crowd at the scene panicked, and it became evident that an assassination had occurred. As a result of their fear, the guests began searching for places to hide.
"Sasha! Sasha!" He lowered his head and shouted her name. After noticing the bloodstains on her chest were spreading, he immediately carried her in his arms.
Sasha could clearly feel the pain in her chest. Although she tried to avoid it, the bullet still hit her bone. D*mn, it hurts. Even after developing great endurance throughout the years in Undercity, a bullet in the chest was still an unbearable pain to her.
As Colton walked into the building, he bumped into Harvey, who was coming out. Glancing at the woman in Colton's arms, Harvey asked curiously, "What's wrong? I saw a lot of people coming in this way just now. What happened?"
Colton's expression was glum as he looked at him. "She was shot in the chest. Quickly take a look at her."
After hearing that, Harvey noticed the wound on Sasha's chest, which he had initially missed because she was wearing a black top. Only after he looked closely he noticed her garment was nearly drenched in blood.

The readers' comments on the novel: Right Person, Wrong Time
What a waste of reading! This could have been an excellent novel if it hadn't skipped chapters after 531 and then everything is garbled. Get your act together if you still want a reading audience!!!...
