Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 712

Chapter 712

Colton glanced down at Sasha. "It is fine now," he comforted. "Don't worry. I will have some men guard you."

She sniffled. It took a few moments before she could stop crying. When she looked up at him, her eyes were red-rimmed and shimmering with tears. Then, she raised a hand to wipe her tears away. When she spoke again, her voice trembled with an apological tone.

"I-I am sorry, Colton. I didn't mean to disturb you, b-but I was so scared…"

Her entire body shivered as if she had actually encountered something extremely unspeakable.

Nicole stood by the door. From the second she stepped into the room, she had been observing Sasha.

She had met Sasha once before, but she did not expect her to be the bodyguard who saved Colton.

Sasha had appeared upset and hurt ever since they entered the room. From how messy the room was, it was true that someone had barged into the room.

Colton helped Sasha back on the bed and made her lie down while he comforted her.

"You are still hurt. You must lay back down and rest."

She softly hummed in acknowledgment, but her body was still trembling. It looked like she had suffered quite a scare.

Nicole waited a few more minutes for the two of them to mutter comforting words to each other before quickly marching into the room and tidying it up. She placed everything from the floor back on the table.

By then, Sasha noticed Nicole's presence in the room. She stared at Nicole while biting her lip.

"Who is she, Colton?"

Disdain flashed in Nicole's eyes. Before Colton could say a word, she spoke up.

"I am Nicole Anderson, Miss Brimley. This is not our first meeting."

Sasha innocently blinked her eyes before saying in a pitiful voice, "Is that so? We might have met somewhere before, but I must have forgotten about it."

Nicole smirked but kept quiet instead of exposing the lie.

She thereafter turned to Colton.

"Someone has barged into the hospital for a kidnapping attempt," she said. "We should report it to the police."

While nothing showed on Sasha's face, her hands clenched around her blanket. Then, before Colton could reply, she hurriedly spoke up in a meek and weak tone.

"I wanted to do that as well, but that group was so obviously hostile that I am afraid of making them our enemies…"

Nicole scanned Sasha from top to toe. While Sasha looked very pitiable, Nicole felt no sympathy for her.

On the other hand, Colton remained silent.

As Nicole looked at Sasha who pretended to be some pitiful victim, the former somehow felt a heavy weight on her chest. She was no longer willing to stay in the room.

Thus, she turned to Colton and said, "Stay here with Miss Brimley. I'm leaving."

She then strode out of the room without hesitation.

The upset look on her face made him instinctively want to chase after her.

Just as he was about to do so, Sasha called out to him, "Colton."

He turned back to look at her. Her face was stark white while her eyes were red. Even her cheeks and nose were red from crying. Tears endlessly streamed from the corner of her eyes, like leaky taps.

Colton felt no compassion for her at all. Instead, he waved her off with a perfunctory sentence of comfort.

"I will station some guards here. This will not happen again."

He paused before continuing, "I will also ask the doctors to check up on you later. Focus on your rest."

He then walked out without even looking back at her.

By the time Sasha could speak, he was already gone.

Her face went pale with fury. She had planned this entire show to turn her into a victim, yet she still could not grasp a glimpse of Colton's love at all.

Her gaze bore at Colton's retreating figure as a murderous rage flashed in her eyes.

She had underestimated just how important Nicole was to him.
