James sat on a chair in the corridor, ignoring everyone else's taunts and sarcastic remarks.
He had no idea how Gloom would notify the director. Still, he knew that Gloom would definitely find a way. As long as the director was at the hospital, he would undoubtedly arrive in five minutes.
Tiara stood in front of him with her head bowed. “I’m sorry, James, for causing you trouble,” she apologized in a soft voice.
James gave a small wave. “It's not a problem,” he said.
Matthew was irritated by Tiara's attitude toward James. She would have been engaged to him already if it were not for her grandmother's critical condition, but she was now flirting with another man.
He was immediately enraged and approached them. “You asked to speak with the director, huh? I'm eager to see if you can actually summon the director today,” he snapped.
Matthew was unaware of James' background and identity. He had not, however, encountered this individual within the Capital's nobility.
Nevertheless, he was worried that James could actually summon the director with special connections. That would be humiliating for him. So he took out his phone and called his older brother in the Henderson family.
“Ian, it’s me, Matthew. You’re familiar with the director of Healthstone Hospital, right? Give him a call and tell him to meet me after ten minutes. That’s right. I’m on the third floor of the inpatient department…”
After making the call, he was pleased with himself and gave James a quick look.
“Why are you trying to compete with the brat, Matthew? It’s not worth the effort.”
“Exactly.”
“Matthew said that the director should show up after ten minutes, so they definitely will."
Members of the Youngblood family continued to flatter him.
Seeing what was happening, Zigmund wanted to tell them the truth, but he did not dare.
That was because he was aware that James had always maintained a low profile. He had never used his position to tower over others. Back in Cansington, even the Callahans were unaware of his status when he married into the family for a considerable amount of time.
If he said anything now, he would be going against James’ wishes. Besides, James was no longer the Dragon General, but a mere civilian. Zigmund telling them would cause more trouble.
The news of James regaining his position was not widely circulated in Sol. Only a few people were aware of it, and Tiara was the only person in the Youngblood family who knew. She had never told her family about these events.
Minutes and seconds passed by.
In less than five minutes, a middle-aged man in his fifties hurriedly approached. He was running while putting on his coat.
As soon as he was outside the ward, he quickly straightened his attire.
