Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2606

Fang replied, “Word out there is that you and Zion are the most likely candidates. Most of our comrades think that you should become the president, Chief Cross. Zion's mindset is too old-fashioned, so you should take up the position instead. I've spoken to Lucas, Zach, Elijah, Will, and the others about this. They say they support you just like I do—”

Nathan cut him off coldly, “Shut up!”

Fang had gotten so carried away with his blabbering that he didn't even notice Nathan’s furious expression until he was interrupted.

The look on Nathan's face was so scary that Fang went silent instantly.

“It's very inappropriate for you guys to be thinking of such things when President Woods is still alive and well. Also, this isn't something for you to concern yourselves with either! You guys are soldiers, and soldiers are not allowed to get involved in politics. Your duty is to protect the country and its people, so do not waste your energy worrying about anything else. As a fellow soldier, all I care about is how I can strengthen my troops and better protect my country. Warfare is the only thing I'm good at, so I can't really do anything else. I don't want you guys causing any further trouble.

Is that understood?” Nathan said.

Fang and the others nodded in unison. “Yes, sir!”

“Dismissed!” Nathan ordered.

With no other choice, Fang and the others could only leave with their heads held low.

They had come over specifically to inform Nathan that everyone in the military was supporting him in becoming the president.

Unfortunately for them, Nathan only wanted to focus on matters related to the battlefield instead of entering politics.

Having failed at persuading Nathan, Fang and the others were about to return to the North when they ran into Penny and Ava.

“Good day, Mrs. Cross!” the three of them greeted her in unison.

Penny knew that they were Nathan's most trusted subordinates. She especially remembered Destroyer because he had visited their house once.
