Nathan remained seated, calm and composed. He casually lit up a cigarette and took a puff of his cigarette before he shifted his gaze to Carrey and replied, “Is that so?”
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The sound of cohesive footsteps echoed throughout the room, and the troop of soldiers barged in.
In a unified fashion, the soldiers lined up in two rows on both left and right.
“Do not move! You'll have to bear the consequences should you disobey our
words.”
That shocked every single person in the bar. As a result, they dared not lift a finger or move a muscle.
Shortly after, an awe-inspiring person swaggered into the room. He wore the army uniform together with a huge overcoat and a pair of black boots.
Leading the troop was Will, the commander-in-chief of the Capital Garrison.
Behind him was a group of his most trusted subordinates.
Will entered the bar with his subordinates in tow and immediately noticed the dim lighting. Frustration swelled within him, and he was slightly displeased because no one bothered to switch on all the lights despite knowing his arrival.
Just as he wanted to instruct the National Guards to switch on all the lights, Carrey suddenly yelled with excitement before he could do so, “Will, you're finally here! If you're one second late, I might be dead already.”
An obese figure with a blood-stained face rushed toward Will with excitement written all over his face.
Will initially could not figure out who it was. He then made out the appearance of the man with the help of the dim lights. He was surprised when he recognized the person to be Carrey, the son of his close friend, Erwin.
He had personally brought the troop over only because he was informed that Carrey had been bullied.
However, he never expected Carrey to have suffered such a cruel beating.
Will was dumbfounded. “Are you really Carrey? Who is so insolent to have beaten you up?”
Carrey, in an attempt to exaggerate his grievances, held out his arm and started crying. “Will, it's them! Besides beating me up, they also injured my bodyguards and friends. What's more, they insulted my family! Will, please seek justice for me!”
Will was infuriated. What? How dare they insult the Holmes family! How dare they disrespect Mr. Holmes!
