Meanwhile, the birthday banquet was taking place in Indigo Palace.
Upon hearing a commotion from outside, Hansel knitted his brows and asked Camilla, “What's happening?”
Camilla had no clue, either. However, since it was her husband's big day, she felt she had to fulfill her role as a wife and make sure the guests had a good time there.
She whispered in his ear, “I'm not sure. Perhaps we have more guests coming? I'll go and take a look.” Right then, Nathan stood up and stopped her from leaving. “It's all right. You all stay here. I'll entertain the guests on your behalf.”
He then stood up and walked out of the door.
As someone who was born with an extraordinary hearing ability, Nathan could tell someone was trying to stir up trouble. That was why he volunteered to find out who the troublemaker was.
Sage and a few subordinates from the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor caught up with Nathan upon seeing that.
Before Nathan could make it to the entrance, Quinten, one of the Elite Eight members, rushed in and headed toward Nathan.
Nathan frowned and asked, “What's with the commotion out there, Quinten? And why do you lose your composure?”
Quinten saluted Nathan and whispered, “Bad news, sir. Braydon Goodall, the head of the Integrity Department's Special Investigation Unit, is here with a large group of his men.”
“What are they doing here?” Nathan asked.
Quinten answered, “He said he wanted to arrest someone but didn't say who. He also reprimanded Captain Dunne, telling him to get out of his way. Captain Dunne was so mad that he stopped Braydon and his men from coming in.”
Nathan’s expression turned grim, and he said icily, “Ask Braydon to do us a favor. He can arrest whoever he wants after the banquet. I don't want him to put a damper on Mr. Windsor's birthday celebration.”
Quinten responded, “Yes, sir!”
He then turned around and walked away.
Before Quinten left, Nathan called out to him again. “Hold on! I heard this Braydon Goodall is not easy to deal with, and I don’t think he'll listen to you. Sage, why don't you follow Quinten and pass the message to him personally?”
Sage replied, “All right, sir. I'll take care of it. Enjoy the dinner with Mr. Windsor and the other guests.”
Nathan nodded and returned to the banquet.
