Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2962

Nathan knew that Wylder must have recognized him.

He smirked and waved Colin and Ava away.

All the other patrons and the restaurant staff were instructed to leave Cloud Palace immediately.

Wylder turned to his men and instructed in a low voice, “All of you, get out of here. No matter what happens, none of you are allowed to enter without my permission.”

The bodyguards were surprised, but they obeyed Wylder's order and exited Cloud Palace quietly.

Inside the restaurant, only Nathan, Penny, Wylder, Cristiano, and Sloan remained.

Nathan laid down his fork slowly. Then, he turned to look at Wylder, who was still kneeling, with a cold, detached expression. “I suppose you know who I am.”

“President Cross, of course I recognize you...” Wylder replied, trembling in fear.

President Cross!

Sloan had been confused by his father's sudden deference to Nathan.

However, now that it was clear that Nathan was the new president, fear crept over him.

When Cristiano realized that his nephew had inadvertently offended the president, he, too, knelt down in deference.

Nathan stared at the three Zarnowskis, who were kneeling in front of him. He said coldly, “It's good that you know who I am. To tell the truth, I've heard about you too, and I did not hear good things. I heard that the South Army wanted to requisition several fishing boats for temporary military use from you, the King of Fishermen. However, you demanded to be paid a high sum. Negotiations failed, and the navy had to seek out other fishermen for their help. Wylder Zarnowski, you really are a corrupt businessman, and you've raised an equally corrupt son!”

Nathan's words shook Wylder to his core.

He wore a horrified expression as he explained in a shaky voice, “President Cross, it's not that I refused to aid the South Army, but it's the fishing season. It's a good time for us to fish! The number of fishing boats that the navy required was too much, and the compensation they offered was too little! I—”

“No problem at all!” Wylder replied immediately. “Thank you for giving the Zarnowski family a chance to atone for our wrongdoing. We will attend to it immediately.”

Nathan nodded in satisfaction. “As for your son, his past rape charge as well as harassment and public nuisance charges committed today cannot be ignored. He will be handed over to the police for them to deal with. Do you have any problem with this?”

Wylder knew that his son would be serving at least ten years in prison for those crimes.

However, his son had offended the president. It was mercy enough that Nathan had spared his life.

Wylder quickly thanked Nathan and said, “I have no problem with that. My son deserves to be punished for his crimes.”

“Very well!” Nathan said in a steely voice. 'You Zarnowskis must remember that although you are mere businessmen, you hold great power, and with great power comes great responsibility. You cannot just focus on making money. You must also think of how you can contribute to the country. If you don't, you will not go far.”

Wylder was surprised by Nathan's advice. However, he knew the truth of his words. “You are right, President Cross. I will keep that in mind.”
