Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 3035

After Nathan returned home, he called Zion.

In the call, Nathan informed Zion he was feeling a little under the weather recently. As such, he hoped the latter would take on more of the workload.

Immediately, Zion asked Nathan to rest up. In the meantime, the former would ensure the Cabinet and Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor would continue functioning properly and that its employees would not slack off since the president was away.

Right after Nathan hung up the phone, Penny knocked on the door and entered. “Hubby, it's time to eat,” she whispered.

Nathan replied, “Okay.”

Although Penny wanted to help Nathan up, the latter held her hand and smiled. “I'm just suffering from severe side effects after exhausting myself. It's not like I'm badly injured. Besides, how could I ask a pregnant woman to take care of me? I should be the one taking care of you instead.”

Upon hearing that, Penny was touched.

When she saw Nathan at the airport that day, she thought something had happened to him after noticing his white hair and tired expression. Therefore, she was so worried that she started crying.

It was only when she knew Nathan had overworked himself from battling that she felt relieved. Plus, the military doctor had promised multiple times that Nathan could return to his old self in about one to three months, including regaining his black hair.

At that moment, she let her husband lead her out of the study and downstairs to the dining room on the first floor.

Penny glanced at her husband, noticing that his white hair did not make him look any less handsome. On the contrary, he seemed even more dashing than usual.

It made him look less mature and more devilish.

Well, what's there to do about it? The white hair is to be blamed. Nathan is undoubtedly handsome, but the white makes him stand out more. It's as if he's a pompous son from a wealthy family.

When Nathan noticed his wife peeking at him, he asked with a smile, “What are you looking at?”

Penny answered, “I'm thinking about how your white hair complements your dashing face. You look like those stylish male celebrities or even those arrogant young men from affluent families. How are you going to hold a meeting with the ministers from the Cabinet or the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor with such a stylish look? Don't forget about making a public appearance in the news too.”

At that, Nathan smiled bitterly. “With my appearance right now, I should stay away from getting pictured by the media. It's going to be bad publicity. As for my job, I've already arranged everything. I will be resting for a month before returning to work.”

Since he was recuperating and had time, he decided to head over.

Three days later, Nathan had recovered enough that they could make the trip. He, Penny, and Queenie kept a low profile and boarded a plane to the West with Colin, Ava, and the Elite Eight in tow. All of them were dressed in the simplest clothing they owned.

After flying for a few hours, they arrived at the West.

Right afterward, Nathan and the group switched transports and took the train. It took them two to three hours to arrive at a remote city of the West—Xendale.

After Nathan and the group arrived at Xendale, Colin told Nathan, “It's going to take us another two hours before we can arrive at Mr. Wood's house. Plus, it'll be a bumpy ride. Should I order someone to send a couple of sedans for us to get there? Or should we take the bus?”

Nathan pointed at everyone's simple attire. “Do you know why I asked everyone to wear your simplest outfit? It's because I don't want people to misunderstand that we're here for show. I do not wish for the Woods family to feel pressured by my status. I'm only here as a godfather to visit my goddaughter and see if she's doing well or if she needs any help. Therefore, we should keep it simple and not ride a sedan there. It's too flashy, and it gives people the idea of a supervisor here to check on his subordinates. That's not a good feeling to give off. Let's just take the bus. It's a good opportunity for us to experience how ordinary citizens go about.”

Everyone agreed in unison.

Therefore, Nathan and the group boarded a bus.
