Prince's Mansion's grand hall at Kushburn, Max was having a conversation with his two deputies, Parkhurst and Buro. Buro had a robust physique and a dignified appearance. Meanwhile, Parkhurst was tall and slender, resembling a playboy. He had a frivolous demeanor. Yet occasionally, a hint of sharpness flashed through his eyes that couldn't be noticed easily. Max calmly asked, “How is the progress of your feigning retreat?”
Buro stood up and reported solemnly, “In response to Admiral Max's instructions, we have dispatched small forces to engage the enemy in battle, and we deliberately lose each time, feigning retreat. Now, the enemy's vanguard, which is the thirty thousand frontline forces led by Remdik's God of War, Leopold, has been lured into Hellfire Canyon.”
Buro added, “Just now, our vampire warriors, who are ambushing Hellfire Canyon, have already surrounded Leopold and his troop, trapping Leopold within the canyon. However, considering that Leopold is not an easy opponent, our vampire warriors have surrounded him but are not attacking, waiting for your instructions.”
Upon hearing this, Max said with satisfaction, “Well done, Buro.” After saying that, Max looked at Parkhurst again and said lightly, “Parkhurst?” Parkhurst sat in the chair, gently swirling the red wine in his glass, then asked with a playful smile, “What can I do for you, Admiral Max?” Max said, “Remdik's God of War, Leopold, has been trapped. But his strength is extraordinary. To ensure nothing goes wrong, I'd like to ask you to make a trip and take his head personally.
Would you be willing to do so?” Parkhurst chuckled lightly. “It's just killing Remdik's God of War. It's like falling off a log. I'll take on this mission.” Max reminded, “We must win this battle and take down Leopold's head. Only then can we deter our enemies and strike fear into their hearts. So, you cannot afford to fail this time, understand?”
Parkhurst said with a smile, “Don't worry, Admiral Max! By the way, after I slay Leopold, should I wait at the scene and kill the human War Gods who will arrive later?” Upon hearing this, Max was stunned.
“You want to kill other human War Gods after killing Leopold? Could it be that you have the confidence to take down Nathan as well?” Parkhurst chuckled.
Then he left with a flick of his sleeve. The guards at the scene hurriedly followed suit and left. Inside the hall, only Parkhurst and Buro were left. Buro looked at Parkhurst, who was still bowing in the direction Max had left, then said with a frown. “Alright, Admiral Max is gone now. Parkhurst, there's no need to hold a grudge against Admiral Max at a crucial time like this!”
Parkhurst slowly straightened up, looking in the direction where Max had disappeared. Suddenly, Parkhurst turned his head towards Buro, his gaze incredibly sharp. The sharp gaze was like a knife, causing Buro to be startled as well. But in the next moment, Parkhurst was back to his usual frivolous demeanor. He said with a playful smile, “Buro, you've misunderstood. I have great respect for Admiral Max.”
Before Buro could say anything, Parkhurst waved his hand dismissively and turned around lazily to leave. He mumbled, “Forget it. I won't waste my breath on you. I'm heading to Hellfire Canyon to deal with that trapped animal first.”
