Novem noticed Nathan was down in the dumps and could not bring himself to comfort the latter. So, he left silently. Inside the ward, only Nathan and Colin remained. After a while, Nathan finally came to his senses and accepted the reality.
Since it's currently impossible to change the fact that I've become a vampire, I can only wait for a gradual treatment in the future.
He shifted his gaze to Colin and asked, “How many people know about my situation now?” Colin truthfully said,
“Apart from the people of the National Guard, a few trustworthy doctors know about it. For now, no one else is aware. You haven't shown yourself for quite some time. People are speculating that you were severely injured during the battle at the summit of God's Palm and that you're currently undergoing treatment.”
He paused a while and continued, “Even some unscrupulous media have spread rumors that you might have passed away due to severe injuries, claiming that National Guard is keeping it a secret.” Nathan asked again, “What about those guys and Wolfric? Have they come to cause any trouble?”
Whenever Wolfric was mentioned, Colin would become angry and say indignantly, “After you were severely injured and fell unconscious, he took over command of the alliance and wiped out the battlefield. He claimed that the victory in this battle was achieved under his command. Now, he's leading the main force of the alliance, heading straight for the headquarters of the vampires, which is Anddasland. He wants to personally exterminate the remaining forces of the vampire, making his name go down in history.” Nathan said indifferently, “If he has the ability, there's no harm in it. I'm only afraid that his eagerness for quick success and instant benefits might bring disaster to the alliance's warriors.” Colin replied, “The vampires have suffered consecutive defeats and heavy losses, as well as you have also killed several princes, but Patriarch Herod and several other vampire princes are still alive. Within the vampire-occupied territory, there are countless bondslaves.”
