Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 3361

Nathan was talking to Hepburn in the study room when Colin suddenly knocked on the door and entered.

He spoke softly, relaying the information, “Mr. Cross, the troops dispatched by Wallera have arrived, with Thomas leading them.”

Thomas!

Upon learning that Thomas was leading the team, Nathan's initial surprise gave way to a joyful expression. “He's here! Bring him here immediately. I want to speak with him,” he said eagerly.

Hepburn demonstrated her keen perceptiveness and tact, recognizing that Nathan would want to have a long conversation with his subordinate and that her presence would lead to inappropriateness. Hence, she gracefully excused herself from the room, offering a plausible excuse for her departure.

Shortly after Hepburn left, Thomas entered the room, his face filled with excitement.

As soon as he laid eyes on Nathan, Thomas straightened his posture and saluted him with a crisp military gesture using his remaining left hand.

“Hello, Chief Cross!”

Nathan rose from his seat, approached Thomas, and placed a comforting hand on the latter's shoulder where the missing limb resided. Filled with emotions, Nathan asked, “Thomas, when did you arrive?”

Thomas chuckled and replied, “I've been here for a while. As soon as I heard that you needed additional support when I was back home, I volunteered to come and assist in Wallera.”

Nathan nodded. “Very good!”

Nathan then asked Thomas, “How many of you have come in total?”

Thomas replied, “In total, three groups have arrived. They consist of many of our retired comrades, as well as talented individuals from various backgrounds. We have over fifty thousand people in total!”

Nathan was taken aback by the large number. “That's quite impressive!”

Colin, who was standing nearby, smiled and added, “Under Dido's leadership, there are not many skilled individuals. With Wallera now regaining its independence, there are numerous industries waiting to thrive. The region requires a significant influx of talent. Following your instructions, Chief, I have facilitated the transfer of a considerable number of people from our homeland. This has enabled Dido to establish her regiment and initiate official operations in Wallera.”

Upon hearing this, Nathan was somewhat speechless.

Now it became clear to Nathan why some outsiders would criticize and claim that while Dido appeared to be the queen of Wallera, in reality, he was the true ruler, the uncrowned king of Wallera.

Nathan then engaged in a conversation with Thomas, catching up on the latest developments in Wallera and learning about Thomas' recent experiences.

Immediately after, Nathan expressed his intention to Thomas, saying, “Considering your capabilities, serving as a regular general in Wallera seems like a waste. I will speak to Dido and recommend that she appoint you as the Minister of Defense for Wallera, entrusting you with the responsibility of overseeing the country's military affairs.”

Thomas' eyes widened in surprise after hearing that.

Minister of Defense? That means I will be the commander-in-chief of three armies in Wallera!
